We started our journey of gene identification with the weird blue (non-American Blue and non-Russian Blue) on the left and crossed in a genetically identified albino rat with no hidden recessives except albinism and hooded pattern. Now we have more weird, not-quite-right colored rats. Still, we are several steps closer to pulling apart the pieces that make Blue Moon, and we love all our resulting little weirdos ❤️

Sorry for the recent lack of litter updates. We have been extremely busy and going through some difficult life challenges recently which has left us with little time and energy for social media. Hopefully we can be back in full swing soon.

Introducing the two holdbacks taken from my current litters: Lily (marked Russian Blue Berkshire dumbo) and Morticia (black self standard ear) 🩶🖤

There were 19 babies total between our two litters, 6 girls and 13 boys. The remaining 4 girls and 13 boys will be ready for new homes at the end of March!

Wyvern and Striga dropped us two litters on Friday! Both are sired by our sweet boy Spruce. Keep an eye out here for litter updates ❤️ Next one will be Wednesday, and we will include photos!

Mom got a bit of a break while we took the babies out in the bonding scarf to Agri Feed Pet Supply for a bit of food and bedding shopping. The beans were so chill and happy for the ride and visit, and shop staff got a cuteness fix ❤️

We have babies! Our outcross project has given us some very beautiful babies as well as taken us several steps closer to understanding the genetic mysteries behind J-Line's unique Moon and Blue Moon coat colors ❤️ Many of these babies will be up for adoption in six weeks!

We have some very interesting beans in these two litters! Both litters born 11/21/22 and thriving ❤️

We have two new litters as of this week!

Holly and Spruce gave us 10 beautiful full Jline babies on Octover 11th, 5 boys and 5 girls. All these pups are Blue Moon dumbos, most likely bershire. One is marked with a wedge blaze, but it's difficult to tell just yet if any will develop smaller facial markings.

Wyvern and Spruce gave us 8 lovely 75:25 Jline:Lab outcross babies on October 14th. Though it's tough to say for sure at this stage, I believe we have 3 boys and 5 girls. One pup appears to be agouti, three are some form of shaded that could be any number of colors, and the other four are pink as bubble gum--most likely Himalayan or Siamese, but there is a possibility for albino, Moon, or mystery pale as well!

I am super excited to watch these litters grow ❤️ About half of these pups will be up for adoption come December 6th, and the other half will be held back for my breeding program as well as for my co-breeders. If you're interested in learning more about these litters, send me a message!
