🦨✨ Skunk Season is Here! ✨🦨

It’s that time of year when skunks are falling in love all over the place, including your back yard! Our furry friends are eager to explore the great outdoors! But with that excitement comes the risk of an unexpected encounter with our striped friends. Don’t let a skunk surprise ruin your pet’s day or yours!

🌟 **Grooming Tip:** Regular grooming can help reduce the risk of skunk odor sticking to your pet's fur. Schedule a grooming session with us to keep your pet clean and fresh!

🐾 **What To Do If Your Pet Gets Sprayed:**
1. **Stay Calm:** Your pet can sense your stress. Keep them calm and reassure them.
2. **Avoid Rubbing the Fur:** Rubbing can spread the oils and make the smell worse.
3. **Don’t Use Tomato Juice:** This is a common myth. It may mask the smell temporarily but doesn’t eliminate it.

🚫 **What NOT To Do:**
-** DO NOT USE WATER FIRST! **skunk spray is an oil, and adding water will only make it worse!
- **Don’t bathe immediately:** Wait at least 30 minutes before bathing to allow the oils to settle.
- **Avoid using soap or shampoo first:** Use a specialized skunk odor remover. We have that! Conditioner is a good thing to have on hand to use on a dry dog! Some homemade solutions can really dry out and even bleach your pets coat, use with caution and always avoid eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.
- **Don’t forget to check your pet’s eyes:** If they’ve been sprayed in the face, rinse their eyes gently with water.
