Guess who’s back with us for a few days… Miss Sage. She’s such a sweet girl and loves staying at SoKno Pet Sitting. And yes, she loves this bed and she will hide in her bed. We do have openings for the new year. Don’t wait until it’s too late to book with us. Happy Friday Eve.

We have had a very busy month here at SoKno Pet Sitting. We wrapped up our training with Re*****on (Remi). It is very cool to know where Remi started and how much he matured in his 6-7 week training program. He’s a very smart and sweet guy. We had Neyla & Copper, Sage, Goob, Libby, Izzy, Marshall, and we close out the month with Sadie & Savannah. We do have some dates left in December and we’re already booking for 2025. Let us know how we can help you with your travel needs for your four legged kids. Thank you all for trusting us with these precious pups.

We at SoKno Pet Sitting love taking our customers for walks in the neighborhood even when it’s cold and breezy outside. The neighborhood goes out for the holidays especially for Halloween. Remi and I had to get our picture taken in front of some decorations. We have some dates available for November and December - let us know your dates and see if we can serve your needs.

Everyone, I’d like to introduce you to Re*****on (Remi). He’s a 3 year old Black Labrador Retriever. First thing I want to say that his owners got him off to a great head start, but felt like he needed a little more training and repetition to get him where they wanted him to be. With that said, Remi has started our basic obedience training at SoKno Pet Sitting. When he first arrived Remi would not sit still and always wanted to scoot closer to you. Also, he was afraid of getting up on things like getting in a car. Almost two weeks in the program he has overcome his fear of being up on a stand and is doing an amazing job at sitting still (place). I can now walk 30-40 feet away and he will sit. We keep our training sessions fun and interactive as he loves to play fetch. He’s is going to make his parents happy when he finishes up his training with us.

SoKno Pet Sitting welcomes a well aged Ms. Izzy to her vacation this week. She is such a sweet lady. So easy going. We had to get out for a short walk and enjoy this beautiful weather in East Tennessee. Hope you all are enjoying it as well.

I have traveled with a dog every year since 2005 when I got my first dog Bullet. And I traveled with two dogs off and on from 2010-2017. And crate training a dog is one of the top two things you can train for your dog. The other one is the here/come command. But if I had to pick one… I would pick crate training to be the single most important thing you can teach a dog. It is their “safe” space. It allows you to sleep through the night when you travel. It makes it easy for whoever watches your pup. I know it can be a challenge at first but it is worth the effort.

We saw the sunshine yesterday afternoon after 3 days of rain here at SoKno Pet Sitting. So Chip, Wiley and I took advantage of it and got our much needed steps in and our Vitamin D. It was a great time with these two. They are so well behaved and a pleasure to be with.

It’s Wednesday and that means SoKno Pet Sitting is letting Walter take us for a walk. Yep, he’s got a fresh cut and looking all stylish for everyone in the neighborhood.

Exercise before bath time

Kicker and I beating the heat earlier this morning with a little bit of fetch before he gets his weekly bath. As my wife, Angie says… we don’t keep dirty dogs in this house 😆 😆 😆 And yes, Kicker understands English 😆

Kevin - 5 Months Old

We started working with Kevin 5 weeks ago, I would spend two days a week with Kevin and his pet parents showing them commands and critiquing them working with Kevin. He has learned sit, here & heel, here, and down. Is he done - no. He still has a lot of reps and a few other commands that his parents want him to learn. But we are building a foundation for Kevin that will help him in the future. We offer basic obedience training in addition to our potty breaks, walking, and boarding services.

We have been working with Kevin (almost 6 months old) for about three weeks now. We have been working on his “here, sit, heel” obedience and throwing in a few remote sits with a here command. Thursday he learned the “down” command added with the “here” command. He still has many repetitions to go to be fully obedience trained, but he’s picking it up so well. Proud of ya Kev!!! Walter is an absolute blast to take on walks. I’m so blessed that I get to spend time with him through the week. SoKno Pet Sitting

Kevin (white) and Susan (brown) living there best life. But Monday got Kevin pretty good. Turn your volume all the way up and wait until the end. Kevin is okay but the mini-fire pit has a small dent.
