STAFF SPOTLIGHT-Holli
Holli is our newest and youngest assistant. She works part time for us while finishing her degree in animal science and pursuing her dream of vet school. She is a fast learner and has quickly taken over most of the responsibilities as a room assistant. She is great with customer service and works right alongside the veterinarian while conducting appointments. She has a thirst for knowledge and is soaking up all of the various skills of this job. We are lucky to have her and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in her academic career.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT-Destiny
Destiny is the backbone of our team. She is one of our newer employees but quickly came into her place in reception and made it her command post. She is someone you can always count on in any situation. She shows up with a smile on her face every single day ready for whatever is thrown at her. Destiny excels at difficult conversations with clients and is always an amazing support staff member for our med team. We are so lucky to have such a valuable and dedicated customer service representative.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT- Abbey
Abbey is our longest working receptionist. You can always count on her to be detail oriented and as cool as a cucumber. She is a vital asset to our team and creates almost a zen atmosphere to work in. We love her passion for animals and her compassion for people. She has so much empathy for our clients going through hard times. A little compassion goes a long way and Abbey is overflowing with it. She truly has the biggest heart of anyone we know and is always willing to be a shoulder to cry on. In a field where we are surrounded by sadness at times, this is a priceless trait to have on the team.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT-Brittany
Brittany came to us after graduating the University of Tennessee with a bachelors in Animal Science. Brittany is incredibly good at learning and executing new things. If there is an issue with something in the hospital, she is going to be the one to help figure it out. From lab machines to label makers she can usually help get it working again. This a huge asset in a busy hospital with so many moving parts. Not only is she a good problem solver with tech but she is fantastic with running all the lab and cytology samples that we collect. In this field you can’t get overwhelmed and you can always count on Brittany to keep a calm level head and process all the samples efficiently and accurately.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT- Sarah
Sarah came to us as a young, eager extern wanting to get some experience in a veterinary clinic. We loved her so much we just had to keep her around and add her to the team! Sarah’s compassion and unmistakable love of animals is her greatest asset. She truly has the biggest heart when it comes to caring for all of our patients. Sarah excels at a variety of skills and is a jack of all trades. You can always count on her to be one of the first ones to jump into action and think on her feet no matter the situation. From taking radiographs to comforting an owner during a hard time she is there for it all and we love her for that.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT- Kaylin
Kaylin is our senior vet assistant and office manager. She spent the first half of her professional career as a zookeeper working with large animals and exotics. We snatched her up and trained her right after purchasing the clinic. She also oversees the entire team here at Companion and strives to keep a happy and healthy work environment for all. Her never-ending thirst for knowledge makes her a valuable asset. She never stops reading or learning, trying to constantly expand her skills and knowledge of this field. She has a big focus on aiding in more of our difficult cases. From emergency surgeries, to hospitalized patients in critical care, this is where she thrives. If your pet needs rigorous care through the weekend or after hours, Kaylin is your girl here tending to their every need.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT- Deanna
Deanna is our longest working employee. She has been here since 2013 when she started as a kennel assistant and worked her way up to one of our senior vet assistants. Deanna excels with client communication and patient handling. One of her unique skills is her proficient knowledge and experience as an orthopedic surgical assistant. If your pet needs to see the orthopedic surgeon you can bet Deanna will be the one with them every step of the way.

Today is the start of Vet staff appreciation week. The skills and knowledge of these hard working ladies are priceless to us as a hospital. We cannot thank them enough for continuing to pour their heart into their work day in and day out. Don't forget to take a moment and thank not only the med team but the customer service team too! These amazing women dedicate their lives to helping you and your pets.
***Be on the lookout for a staff spotlight on each of these women the rest of the week to learn more about them.
