One of my clients sent me this. I trim Cheyenne and Comanche. When I first saw Cheyenne, her hooves were so over trimmed that I couldn't touch her for 2 months. Her collateral grooves were almost non-existent. She was in so much pain that she couldn't even stand without something on her feet. So she got some boots to wear 24/7. When I was able to start trimming her, she had to stand on an old thick pad so her feet wouldn't hurt. It warms my heart to see her like this with nothing on her hooves now. She still has some growing but at least she is comfortable enough to go out with the other horses.

These pics and the video are from today. Video in comments. I have had the pleasure of working with a veterinarian, body worker, and an amazing horse mom. This mare went from laying down most of the time and her fetlock buckling forward to the ground, to actually being able to straighten her leg as she walks! I was told she is even starting to canter now! It takes a village. It is moments like this that make my day!

These past 2 days of work have been amazing. Yesterday I went to trim a mare who couldn't stand when I first saw her. Her feet were over trimmed so badly her collateral grooves were almost non-existent. I got to see her soundly walk barefoot for the first time! She still requires boots but her feet have gone up 2 sizes since I first met her. Today I got to see a long time client with a laminetic pony who couldn't straighten her leg. Today I looked at a lovely pony who was able to stand straighter than I have ever seen from her before. I look forward to her follow up hoof X-rays.
