We have recently been made aware that the pet microchip company "Save This Life" has shut down & unlinked their database from the national registry. While we do not currently use this microchip, we did for a number of years from approximately May 2014 to August 2019.

What this means is that any pet with a chip registered with Save This Life will NOT be traceable by any veterinarian or shelter should he or she become separated from their owner. This is the equivalent of them not being chipped at all.

What should you do now?

1. Verify your microchip information. If you have downloaded the app, their chip number should be listed under the "About" tab on their profile page. Save This Life Chips will begin with the numbers 991 or 900164. If you do not have the app or cannot find the chip number, feel free to call the clinic or stop by & we can look up the information or scan your pet to verify.

2. Re-register your pet ASAP with one of the following registries:

https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/
https://www.petlink.net/ (this is the chip we currently use)
https://www.findpet.com/
https://www.my24pet.com/
https://www.homeagain.com/
https://www.akcreunite.org

The good news is, if your pet does have a "Save This Life" microchip, there is nothing wrong with the chip itself, just the registry. So they will not require a new chip, just a new registration.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Does your pet have bad breath? What color are their teeth? Periodontal disease is the most common clinical condition in cats and dogs even though it's completely preventable!

Don't turn your nose to your pet's bad breath! That odor might signify a serious health risk, with the potential to damage not only your pet's teeth and gums but its internal organs as well.

Taking care of your pet's dental health is a year-round job, but during the month of February, we are offering 20% off your pet's dental cleaning and treatment, PLUS a free loyalty stamp, just for getting a dental done!

Not sure if your pet needs a dental? Every pet's dental needs are different, so set up a consultation to discuss it with the doctor by requesting an appointment in the app!

We have a client who is helping a friend to rehome her kitties due to a change in her life circumstance. Bernise is a longhaired tabby & is 14years old. Marlboro is the white & gray tabby & is approximately 4 years old. Geno is the orange kitty. He came to them as a stray 2 years ago, so they don't really know his exact age. All of them have been spayed/neutered. Please contact the clinic at 865-693-8212 if you can help them find their new furever homes. Please note, these kitties are NOT at the clinic. We will get you in touch with the person helping to re-home them.

I met a sweet lady this weekend who is looking for a permanent home for this young 1 1/2 year old male neutered mixed breed dog that she has been fostering for 8 months. He is fully vetted, socialized, and microchipped. He gets along with her other pets and obeys her very well but he might be too much for small children. If you would like more information about him or would like to arrange a meeting please contact our offices at (865) 693-8212.
Thank you!

UPDATE: Skitzy has been reunited with her owner.

This older female cat was found very near the clinic and brought in. She is currently under our care while we try to find out if someone lost her and reunite them or end up rehoming her. She is very sweet and sociable, seems about 10 years old at best guess, is not spayed and has no microchip. But she acts like someone’s pet!

Please call if you can help identify her! Thank you! (865) 693-8212
