Our Story

The Travel Dog Program by BioPet Laboratories allows pet owners to register their pets in the system using a simple DNA sample. Through the program, dog owners will gain peace of mind knowing they will be able to display responsible pet ownership, having ultimate proof that any waste left behind was not a fault of theirs. The identification tag pet owners receive can be used to show that the individual is a responsible pet owner who does their part in keeping the environment clean in terms of pet waste, as well as earning the owner discounts at hotels and other participating locations. The Travel Dog Program will serve as a simple way to help dogs become as mobile as their owners – with the program, every dog will be easily identified and accounted for with their Travel Dog tag. With environmental concerns about the effects of pet waste continuing to rise, Travel Dog could not be released at a more crucial time – a recent University of Minnesota study found that pet waste was the third largest pollutant of the Mississippi River, and one of the most famous dog parks in the country, located in Colorado, Evergreen Park, was permanently shut down due safety and environmental challenges arising from dog owners not properly disposing of pet waste. Travel Dog is a voluntary program that showcases responsible pet ownership and concern for the environment - while giving dog owners ultimate proof that they are responsible and do their part to pick up after their pet. However, as people continue to travel with their pets and dog waste continues to become more problematic worldwide, BioPet predicts Travel Dog can help solve these problems for cities, beaches, parks, hotels and other pet friendly attractions.
