It's International Chocolate Day and Halloween is just around the corner.
🍫Chocolate is toxic to dogs 🐕 due to a substance called theobromine, which they metabolize much more slowly than humans. Different types of chocolate contain varying levels of theobromine:
-Dark chocolate: Contains the highest levels, making it the most dangerous.
-Milk chocolate: Contains less theobromine, but can still be harmful in larger quantities.
-White chocolate: Contains very little theobromine and is less toxic, but it’s still not a good choice for dogs.
Symptoms of Chocolate Toxicity:
Signs of chocolate poisoning can vary depending on the amount consumed and the type of chocolate. Common symptoms include: Vomiting, Diarrhea, Increased heart rate, Restlessness or hyperactivity, Muscle tremors, Seizures
In severe cases, it can be fatal.
