❄CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC 1/11❄

Due to the winter storm, we will be closed to the public again tomorrow. Please bring your pets inside. If your dogs are outside, make sure the bedding in outdoor shelters is not frozen and is thick enough to provide adequate warmth. Pine shavings are ideal, but do not use blankets or fabric because they hold on to moisture and will freeze.

❄️Check your dogs for signs of Hypothermia and Frostbite.

• Hypothermia – Shivering – if your pet is shivering, it MUST come inside. Shallow breathing, Tiredness Fixed, dilated pupils (emergency)

• Frostbite – Check ears and feet first. Pain/tenderness when touched. Swelling in affected area. Pale, blue, gray or black skin in the affected area. Skin cold to the touch. Stiffness or clumsiness. Blisters.

Remember - if it’s too cold for you to be outside overnight, it is probably too cold for your pets to be outside overnight. Please bring them in.

Meet Black Beans! He is a loving boy who just wants to cuddle and play. He loves toys, especially balls! He gets along well with other dogs and is a rough and rowdy player. However, he would not do well with cats. He loves to meet new people and go on group walks or the farmers market. Black Beans is crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. His leash skills are quickly improving, and he loves to go for walks at Ijams or hike House Mountain.

❄CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC 1/10❄

With the winter storm advisories in effect, we will be closed to the public tomorrow. Fear not, we will still have employees and volunteers tending to the animals.

With this weather in mind, we'd like to remind you to be sure to bring your pets in from the elements. If being inside the home isn't an option, providing them with an enclosed space away from the wind and elements is crucial. If you need assistance creating a warm space, our Animal Services team is prepared to help with cedar chips and dog houses (while supplies last).

He's incredibly friendly and has never met a stranger. Despite his large stature, he is still just a puppy and still has some learning to do. But he walks well on a leash and likes to keep a tidy kennel. Stop by and meet this gentle giant today!

Meet Axle, a handsome and affectionate 3-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a big heart and a protective streak. Axle is a social butterfly who loves spending time with his people and enjoys going on walks and playing with toys. He's also a bit of a comedian, always ready to make his humans laugh with his silly antics.

Axle is looking for a loving and patient home with adults or older children who can provide him with the attention and guidance he needs. He would do best in a home without young children. With the right training and socialization, Axle can thrive in a loving and supportive environment.
