One of the many things our wonderful volunteers do is facilitate doggy play groups. This outlet for the dogs is crucial for the adoptions process. Because of Doggie Playgroups, we know how dogs do with other dogs, whether they're playful, tolerant, alpha, or if they flat out don't want to be around other dogs. It also gives the animals more time away from their kennels and the much needed exercise they all desperately want. River is quickly learning that strangers are friends you just haven't met yet, as evidenced by her wiggly, kiss-laden greetings. She enjoys car rides, loves to play, and is always down to cuddle. Thanks to the generous folks at North Star K9 Training, she's been practicing how to reel in her walk energies and appropriately stop to smell the roses.
