We are changing up the Obstacle Course Challenge and this will now be three single day clinics, starting on Friday 27 September. The first day, Friday, will be SVHC members only, dedicated to our wonderful volunteers. No horse, no problem, we would love to try to pair you with one of our lovely horses! Numbers will be limited! ( And you must be able to meet our riding requirements-Please email Lizzie or Emily to verify riding requirements).



On Saturday we will open to the public and again the focus will be training and education rather than just riding the course. Betina and Ray, from Next Step Horse Rescue and Spot On - Horse Training, both highly experienced obstacle course competitors and judges, will be conducting onsite training from 8am. Bring your horse, you will need a copy of a current negative Coggins! No overnight accommodation available.



Sunday there will be another training session at 8am followed by groundwork and then we will have a fun competition afternoon, we will still be riding the course, but we will be judging the best turned out rider and horse. Do you have the most bling, are you color coordinated, are you dressed to a Halloween theme, the choice is yours, but our expert judge will decide if you are the 'best turned out'. Prize of lots of SVHC swag!

Rider participation will be limited to 10 riders, if there is high demand we will consider opening up extra spots and adding another instructor.

Spent the morning at Summit Valley Horse Center with Parker and Paco. They are both available for adoption, they have spent a great summer riding and working with everyone at SVHC and are ready for their forever home(s).

Paco
Paco was an endurance horse whose owner unfortunately passed away and no family member wanted him. He is a gentle soul, sound but very willing and in need of a loving forever home. He is 14.3 so needs a handy smaller rider who wants to form a connection with him. Being a former endurance ride he is keen to go and is a very comfortable ride!

Parker
Parker is a dark Bay Paso Fino rescued from a kill auction by Troublesome Ranch. He is an absolute sweetie, kind, eager to please, will lift his feet for the farrier, leads well and loves to be around people. He is suitable for an intermediate rider and is benefitting from more reassurance and training. We love this sweetie, he has now been ridden by teens and mature expert riders and he works well for all levels. He is NOT gaited.
