Dominifarm ๐Ÿ“Dominifarm is an Assisted Loving Community for retired, unwanted & disabled farm animals. ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ„๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ‡โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿพ -Dominifarm Animal Sanctuary, Inc.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization EIN # 86-3996669
incorporated in the State of Idaho. Located in Kuna, ID, the sanctuary provides a permanent loving home for all types of rescued backyard farm animals. We make sure that they live out their entire lives in peace at the sanctuary, where they are treated with the kindness and respect they deserve. Our mission is to provide shelter, food, care and

protection for the animals in our custody. Also, through farm tours and via social media, we give the animals a voice to tell the public their stories. Dominifarmโ€™s rescued animals function as ambassadors so visitors and/or viewers can watch their daily lives, get to know each animal, and gain an appreciation for their species. DOMINIFARM:

-Welcomes public, private, group, organization, school, and corporate visitors, by appointment only. Private tours are by donation, suggested at $25/hour for up to four people.
-Provides people with special needs the opportunity to interact with socialized animals as a form of therapy and rehabilitation. WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT US:

Elder Hildreth is dedicating his summer to serving at Dominifarm, which is the way he chose to do his missionary work for his church. His tenure, which began in May and will continue until August, is driven by a desire to learn and understand how to manage a rescue farm like Dominifarm. He aims to acquire the skills necessary to run his own homestead in the future. With prior experience in gardening and animal care, he wants to expand his expertise while contributing to a nonprofit animal organization. Elder Hildreth's diligence and work ethic have been a great asset for the sanctuary. He has been working on different projects, such as constructing small structures, stacking wood, hauling hay, gardening, painting, assisting the farrier, and caring for animals. Thank you, Elder Hildreth, for your remarkable contributions. https://www.dominifarmsanctuary.org/

Your Idaho Gives gift in action!!!
After a few days of confinement in the horse corral, our cows are back in their enclosure and enjoying their brand new fence. Built by Bullard Fence and AG Repair, the 5-foot pipe fence with welded cattle panels will be extended to the corner of Cloverdale Road. Compared to our old rundown, rotten wood fence, this beautiful lifetime, no-maintenance fence is a huge improvement that will keep our cows safe and secure for years to come. Beau and his cow family thank YOU for this much-needed gift! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ https://www.dominifarmsanctuary.org/

At 43 years old, Mesa the mule is what you call a hard keeper, which means that we have a hard time keeping weight on her. We are supplementing her diet with grain and extra alfalfa daily, but it is not enough. She just had her teeth floated and is on a regular dental routine, and we separate her during feeding time to give her time to eat without being bullied by the other horses. This week, we are going to start her on Camelina oil to support weight gain, joint health, coat quality, and general well-being. Our vet said that feeding extra fats reduces reliance on grains and sugars โ€“ such as molasses โ€“ that can lead to health issues and increase the risk of laminitis. Nothing but the best for our old girl! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿด

Yesterday, Sarah, our skilled pig hoof farrier from Hoofinโ€™ It - Mobile Hoof Care came to trim the pigs' hooves and tusks. When Parker was on his back, she spotted a tumor-like lump on his navel area, and during an examination of Anatoly's mouth, she discovered a large, multicolored mass situated along the upper mandible's gum line. Given its size, coloration, and fragility upon contact, Sarah was concerned that this could be a potentially cancerous growth or another serious condition, and she strongly recommended an immediate evaluation of both cases by our veterinarian. Both pieces of bad news were a big blow to us. We already knew that, because of her severe arthritis, our poor geriatric Frankie would probably not survive next winter, but we were not expecting that sweet Parker and adorable Anatoly, who is only 7 years old, would develop any serious conditions. Then, pink pigs and senior pigs are more at risk of developing cancer. It's heartbreaking, but weโ€™re going to give them all the love and medical care we can offer to try to save them. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ–

Our mobile pig farrier is scheduled for today, necessitating the confinement of each pig in a separate enclosed area. One of our volunteers kindly helped me assemble a temporary cage for the occasion. Baby Ray interrupted his breakfast to give us a paw while Hugo the cat oversaw the operations.

Years ago, I discovered Esther the Wonder Pig on FB and immediately fell in love with her. Her stories brightened up my days for years, and when she passed away, I was devastated and still mourn her. Esther was a symbol, a precursor, a beacon of light and hope for farmed animals. The Esther's Army mission is her legacy, and it has been a huge inspiration to me and one of the reasons Dominifarm exists today. Life comes full circle when your heroes spotlight you on their huge social media page; it's like a dream come true and a very emotional day for me. Some kind of recognition from my peers. Thank you for watching over me, Esther the pig; the love you spread in your lifetime continues beyond death, accompanying me as much as it remains with me. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ–

Dominifarm: Yesterday, Dr. Dan from Driftless Veterinary Services, LLC came to perform eye surgery on Baby Ray, did a dental float on the horses, and prescribed pain management treatments for Frankie's arthritis and Fin's laminitis. We're relieved that Ray's surgery went well because goat anesthesia is always risky. It took him a while to wake up from the procedure, but he's doing well and eating fine.

Ray was born totally blind with one healthy eyeball and one empty pocket. We hope that closing the eyelids on the gap will avoid any future eye infection. Running a sanctuary for elderly and special needs animals necessitates extra maintenance and care for the animals to live their best life๐Ÿ’–

Baby Ray is still recovering from eye surgery. To prevent deadly gas buildup in the rumen after the procedure, the volunteers and I had to keep him awake and moving during recovery, as bloat is a major issue for ruminants under general anesthesia. After the morning chores, I took him indoors, and he stayed on my lap for hours while I worked on the computer, forcing him to walk around the living room periodically; I made sure to keep his head up at all times. It took him about six hours to fully wake up. To monitor him and as long as he's on pain medication, he will be confined to the nursing area with his bestie Norma Jeane the sheep. Weโ€™re wishing you a speedy recovery, Ray Charles! ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ๐Ÿค’

Christine and Christian have been sponsoring the animals since we established the sanctuary in 2021. They love all creatures, but have a special soft spot for Hugo the cat. On Sunday, they generously brought him all sorts of goodies, including dry food, cans, and a storage bin. They were thoroughly impressed by the improvements we've made throughout the years, which have dramatically enhanced the lives of our animals, including upgraded housing, sturdy fences, cozy pens, efficient feeders, reliable water lines, spacious aviaries, and coops. For sponsors, it's heartwarming to know that 100% of donations directly benefit the animals, with hay and feed being our largest expense. Our mission is not only to provide for our rescued animals' needs but to give them love, care, a sense of family, and the beautiful life they truly deserve.

Odie's former family visited him yesterday, bringing joy and treats. They spent quality time showering him with love and affection, and he thrived in the attention, feeling like the luckiest pig alive. One of the little girls surprised me with a lovely bouquet of flowers and expressed her wish to follow in my footsteps, inspiring a new generation of animal lovers and sanctuary founders. It was deeply moving to see the impact on the next generation, who are willing to make a positive difference and change the world for animals.

When our friend Misty heard that Spunky craved a stuffed animal friend, she started looking for one. It took her a little while, but yesterday she found the perfect friend for our lonesome pig. The huge teddy bear made it safely from the store to the sanctuary and rested a little in the shade before meeting its date, who was taking a long nap under the bushes. Meanwhile, Misty went to cuddle with the baby crew. Thank you for this beautiful act of kindness, Misty! โ™ฅ๏ธ ๐Ÿงธ https://www.dominifarmsanctuary.org/
