Dominifarm Dominifarm is an Assisted Loving Community for retired, unwanted & disabled farm animals. 🐖🐑🐄🦃🐇 -Dominifarm Animal Sanctuary, Inc.
(18)

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization EIN # 86-3996669
incorporated in the State of Idaho. Located in Kuna, ID, the sanctuary provides a permanent loving home for all types of rescued backyard farm animals. We make sure that they live out their entire lives in peace at the sanctuary, where they are treated with the kindness and respect they deserve. Our mission is to provide shelter, food, care and

protection for the animals in our custody. Also, through farm tours and via social media, we give the animals a voice to tell the public their stories. Dominifarm’s rescued animals function as ambassadors so visitors and/or viewers can watch their daily lives, get to know each animal, and gain an appreciation for their species. DOMINIFARM:

-Welcomes public, private, group, organization, school, and corporate visitors, by appointment only. Private tours are by donation, suggested at $25/hour for up to four people.
-Provides people with special needs the opportunity to interact with socialized animals as a form of therapy and rehabilitation. WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT US:

We're inundated with calls and messages from owners who need or want to surrender their animals. Over the last two months, we've adopted out a total of 11 animals, most of whom were on our waiting list for months. Unfortunately, we're limited by space, manpower, and money, so we can't save them all. As a small, locally-run sanctuary with no government funding, our nonprofit organization relies solely on donations. We're working tirelessly to raise funds and care for our residents, driven by love and passion, with no one receiving payment for their work.
Our biggest reward is the happiness of our animals. 💗🐾

My morning was packed with a 7:00 am presentation of Dominifarm to the Boise Centennial Rotary club, followed by feed shopping at Tractor Supplly, and a volunteer meeting update, while a mysterious someone lounges by the fireplace in pajama bliss.

Sidney is temporarily moving for a few months, and we'll miss her dearly, counting the days until she returns. I'll always remember the first time I met her when she applied to volunteer at the sanctuary on Easter Day; I interviewed her while wearing a pink bunny costume. As soon as she mentioned her pet pig, Pablo, I knew she was a keeper. We love you, Sid ♥️.

Originally, Dachshunds were farmhands specialized in badger hunting, and used to control farm vermin. To Gustave, helping with chores means hopping on the cart for a free ride. ♥️🐾

Handsome Parker is on a diet, which makes him grumpy. Since older pigs don't move as much as younger ones, they don't lose weight through exercise. We must balance our senior piggies’ calorie intake, as treats and overfeeding lead to obesity, mobility issues, and arthritis.

We were contacted several months ago about seven rescued goats that had been living in neglectful conditions. Before moving to assisted living, their owner had been struggling to care for over 40 goats on his own in a location with limited water access and inadequate shelter. The previous winter's harsh conditions led to the death of approximately 20 goats, which was devastating for the owner given his age and health issues. While most remaining goats were sold at auction, neighbors temporarily took in his favorite pets, which were not allowed in their subdivision, and asked for our help. We wish we could have adopted them all, but were only able to give a forever home to a bonded pair: Peggy, who has a disability, and her son Ramboy. 🧡🐐🐐

Bob has been feeling lonely since his brother passed away. He hasn't yet bonded with the other goats, but may befriend the new farm resident arriving today. As an Angora cashmere goat, Bob was bred for his wool. The shearer trims him alongside the sheep in spring to keep him cool during warmer months. By fall, his beautiful coat grows back, insulating him from the elements. Despite being aloof, Bob has a kind heart and endearing personality. We love you to the moon and back Bob! ♥️🐐

Hopalong, our three legged goat, is looking forward to trying his new limb. After taking all necessary body measurements, two teams of biomedical engineering students from Boise State University are engaged in a competition to design and build two distinct 3D prosthetic back legs for him. Although he has adapted to his handicap over the past 11 years, extra assistance would provide greater comfort. ♥️🐐

Our adorable Southdown Babydoll sheep, Rosie, is deeply bonded with her herd. While she tolerates our presence, she remains standoffish and uninterested in human interaction. Rosie and her best friend Taj thrive in a calm and stress-free environment, which we carefully maintain at the sanctuary, prioritizing our animals' privacy and ensuring Rosie's happiness.

Frankie, our shy 11-year-old Juliana pig, rarely gets photographed. For the longest time, she and her bestie Hogany were so timid that we barely saw them. Now, they frequently explore beyond their pen, despite arthritis affecting their stumpy little legs. Both senior ladies have their own home yet they've taken to squatting Spunky's tiny hothouse extension. As they crave the sunlight, we’re planning on assembling a temporary greenhouse tunnel for them. We can’t wait to give our sweet old ladies their own private conservatory with ample light for the winter.

Ruby, our new emu, stepped out of her cage for the first time in twenty years, overcoming her fears to face the unknown. With Baby Bird by her side for support, she cautiously took her first steps outside. However, a truck noise spooked her, and she ran away through the electric fence into the cow area. I had to protect her from the cows while guiding her back to safety. To secure the fence, I added hog panels, as her feathers make her immune to the electric line. It has been a few days and Ruby now savors her freedom, often returning to her long-time home, the large cage.

If you’d like to help us build a cozy little home for Ruby, we added Lowes and Tractor Supply gift cards on our Amazon wish list https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/Y14O0AYP047U?ref_=wl_share.
In our effort to offer the best home for our animals, we’re always accepting all kinds of gently used farm and building materials like 2x4, 2x6, wood posts, T-posts, hog panels, gates, and metal roofing. Thank you ♥️🐾

Before we lost birds to predator attacks, Henley used to free-range on the premises and rule the farm poultry. He doesn't like dogs but is friendly to other species. Like many male turkeys, he is very affectionate towards his caregivers and a good protector of his little flock of turkey and Guinea hens. For his safety, he's now housed in an aviary with a sheltered attachment. For Thanksgiving, we would love to add a few 10x6 dog kennel panels to his pen to expand his kingdom. If you have used ones in good condition, please consider donating them to Henley and his friends; your kind gift to our nonprofit is tax-deductible. Thank you. 🦃🧡🍁

For almost a year, Gustave and Eiffel have called Dominifarm home. Gustave, a loving 4.5-year-old dachshund, always jumps onto my lap; I call him my 'personal heating system.' Both dogs have brought immense joy to our lives. They learned to walk leash-free and somewhat respect boundaries in seven months, ensuring their safety and that of other animals. To me, giving senior rescue dogs a second chance is much more rewarding than adopting puppies.
Thank you for enriching my life Gustave & Eiffel. ♥️🐾🐾

At 42, Maesa looks remarkably young for her age. She was underweight upon arrival 3 years ago but thrived after dental care. This past year, she's struggled to maintain weight despite extra grain. We'll put her blanket on her once her full coat grows out. Maesa is a wonderful mule who deserves superior care in her golden years. Although we already paid for a horse barn deposit and applied for a building permit in July, zoning issues will likely postpone construction until next Spring. Thankfully, Tina the alpaca's former barn will now shelter Maesa. We're committed to providing the best for our beloved residents. ♥️🐴 https://www.dominifarmsanctuary.org/
