🐾 ADOPT-A-BULLS 🐾
I have two energetic male bully fosters that are ready to start meeting potential adopters/families. They have been on the farm with us for two weeks. They are very weary of new things and have since learned that farm animals and cardboard boxes are safe to check out and that they need to be gentle with them! They are gaining confidence and learning by the day! They have never seen things like liki mats and certain toys til they got here and we’ve been working extremely hard on socializing them with all the things we could possibly think of both in house, out of house, garage, car, animals etc. at their own pace.
Both boys came from a very abusive situation from what we can tell, they were malnourished & scared up when the first temp foster got them. They were found dumped in a park in NJ. They passed their initial exam with flying colors and have received their first round of boosters. Their neuter dates are in December, if you adopt and choose to take them to your own vet, that’s fine, I just need proof of neuter after it’s done!
🚫 No Cats for either dog
🚫 Slow, positive & did I mention slow introductions need to be made with other animals. We are working to gain more info on their behavior with other animals but we are respecting their need for progressive & positive interactions over time and not rushing it.
🚫 These two will not thrive in a daycare or dog park environment
‼️ Bully Breed Experience REQUIRED, this is a non negotiable these boys need to be able to constructively burn energy outside and keep their brains busy with chews, stuffed frozen enrichment & play inside.
‼️ Potential adopters will sign an alteration contract ( that they will be neutered if not already done upon adoption ) & a first right of refusal contract (that if for any reason you are rehoming them you will contact me first)
‼️ They are not yet fully potty trained but they are close! Both can go 3-4 hours without a mess during the day and 6-9 hours over night.
‼️ Adoption fee to cover veterinary expenses applies, they have been lucky enough to have many generous friends buy them treats, toys, food, leashes & collars!
✅ Both boys have met over 15 humans all different ages, sizes etc and have done wonderfully with all respectful human greetings they are LOVERS
✅ Both Boys are 5-6 months old, around 35 pounds currently & need to go to separate homes, they have some creative differences that will not be a healthy mix long term.
✅ Both boys have met various respectful children, they’re good with them but they are STRONG, my toddler loves being knocked down so she doesn’t mind but most other kids & parents do, we are working on their manners but I don’t suggest small children because of their strength & exuberance.
✅ Both Boys are receiving one on one training with a credentialed trainer (me) that is offering two transfer sessions to whatever house hold takes them so they can learn what they know!
A little about them separately
🐶 Draco 🐶
LOVES walking & hiking & running in the fence. He’s beginning to learn how to play tug a war and seems to really like that too.
Draco is going to be a Velcro dog, following you all around the house, wanting to be with you and do activities such as hiking & lots of sniffy walks! He loves being on the long line out in the field and his recall is wonderful so far!
This boy loves to jump!! If you have a fence it better be solid. He is not the biggest fan of tie outs but is learning to like them if it means he can be outside playing.
When he gets nervous or is unsure he barks and wants to check it out.
We have had some good interaction with a female dog his size. He’s done well on walks with other dogs. He needs redirection as he can get very fixated on other animals. With redirection and an alternative cue he listens well & responds.
His favorite chew so far is antlers and this boy can CHEW, he enjoys his kongs and his chews while he snuggles on the couch or blankets but only after he’s gotten his energy out playing, running etc. When you come inside he will bring you his favorite stuffed animal and his tail will go a mile a minute!
🐶 Atlas 🐶
HUGE fan of fetch (with his stuffys, not sure about balls yet) & tug a war, absolutely needs the outlet of playing fetch or tug a few times daily and loves running around in the fence with his human friends!
We’ve had some good interactions with female dogs his size, but he needs to build a lot of dog-dog social skills and breaks. We have been working on his confidence & jumping quite a bit!
Atlas is happy chewing independently from his human friends or laying on the couch or in the grass getting belly rubs. He will not pass up a single cuddle. He loves hanging out after he gets his energy out or finishes his bones.
His favorite chew so far is marrow bones or red barn stuffed bones, he won’t pass up a dental chew, kong or anything food related at all really!
When he sees something that scares him he usually cowers and slowly creeps towards it. If he’s backed into a corner by a dog and uncomfortable he will growl or snap, we are working on his confidence and comfort with other dogs.
