Good morning Dr. Mathews!
This is the early morning serenade, every morning at Dr. Mathews’ house. How do your pets greet you in the morning?
Meet Raptor, the newest disadvantaged rescue by Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue (FTAR). (More pics in comments). Raptor was born with birth defects in both front legs, and requires specialized surgery to address. Unfortunately, the condition is so rare that there aren't many such cases described at all, and our own Dr. Mathews was excited to tackle the surgery. Even with surgery, Raptor may end up in a wheelchair, which Fuzzy Texan is prepared for.
Fuzzy Texan specializes in the most disadvantaged pets—those with cleft palates, hydrocephalus, or (in the case of Raptor this week), severe birth defects. Their bills are rough (many needing very specialized surgery and care), and we are very happy to be able to be work with Fuzzy Texan in the care for all of these guys.
We are unable to take tax deductible donations directly through the hospital, but if you can help out you may do so by donating food, becoming a foster (details at the FTAR page above), or making a monetary donation at https://fuzzytexan.wixsite.com/ftar/donate. You can donate specifically to Raptor, or just make a general contribution to FTAR! They are 501c(3) certified so donations are tax deductible.
