To improve the quality of life for rez pets through education, spay/neuter, pet wellness assistance & the re-homing or networking of abandoned or unwanted pets on Pine Ridge! Only through a network of volunteers and partnering organizations, both on and off the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, can OPP help needy pets. We appreciate your on-going support of our efforts.

I don’t know if we even need to say guess who is on the naughty list and who is on the good list this year. A picture says it all…… sisters reunited for a babysitting session. Zara and Cindra are as cute as they come but we may say that alot, only because it’s true. These two girls are both available for adoption. Cindra is a snuggler and Zara loves to play. They were both part of a litter we received very young because their mother had died. Now they have grown into healthy girls looking for a family to call their own. A lot of what we post about is the rescue side of OPP but there is so much more including our wellness side which helped vaccinate and deworm these six pumpkins today before they go to their new homes. We are grateful for responsible community members who care about the health of their animals and we are happy to be able to provide that! OPP is more than rescue. It’s being an asset to a community with no vet on the entire reservation. It’s being an outlet for help with health issues and prevention for disease and parasites. Good luck pups, hope to see some of you in a few weeks with your new owners for your boosters!

We ended our day yesterday with 3 tiny babies. Babies who lost their mom. Babies who lost 2 siblings. Babies who were cold and dirty but alive. A rushed transport to our neonatal specialist they are now warm in a 90 degree incubator with bottles of milk and full tummies. Their past is just that but we can’t wait to be a part of their future. Welcome to OPP babies, we got you 💜

It’s Giving Tuesday but for us it’s a day to be thankful. Thankful for our foster homes. Thankful for families being a perfect fit. Thankful for donors who help us be able to provide for our animals while in foster care. This Giving Tuesday we are especially thankful for this family who was a perfect fit for Wutsie. She had spent almost 6 months in foster care. Small dogs, usually go fast in rescue and shelters, but some small dogs face greater things that make it harder to place them. Wutsie was terrified of men even after 6 months she was scared of her foster dad and most any other man she met until this family came along. A perfect fit is a perfect fit and that’s exactly what she got. Help us celebrates perfect homes this Giving Tuesday! Help us continue to help animals find them❤️. Happy Adoption Day Wutsie!

It’s Thanksgiving week and Zara is thankful for a warm loving foster home! She is a sweet puppy who loves to cuddle at night and plays well with other dogs. She has a corkscrew tail and white paws. While her specific breed is unknown, she clearly has some Yoda in her family tree. Zara is looking for her forever home to spend the holidays with and is excited to start her new chapter with the new year. If you're interested in meeting Zara, please email [email protected]

Buddy is officially home ❤️. Being a bottle pup is a tough life some days. The hours a foster spends with them is exhausting but it’s adoption days that make all of the countless hours, loss of sleep and times of worry worth it! Happy Adoption Day!

Two and a half weeks ago he was laid out flat. Not moving, barely responsive to voice or touch. He’s kept us on our toes. He’s gained a whole fan club of people hoping for a recovery and yesterday he’s beating all of the odds and rolling in the grass in the South Dakota sunshine! His personality is coming out and we know he’s feeling so much better! Things are still unknown medically including his hearing and eyesight but we are improving one day at a time and that’s all that matters right now. He goes back in Monday to get his stitches removed, his hearing and eyesight checked for any improvements, he will get neutered and vaccinated and all of the good things. Tito we were unsure you would survive to the next day and now you are loving life. With an outstanding vet team, a watchful foster mom and some big love, now we have hope you will one day have a loving family to call your own. We got you! #TeamTito #fightanimalcruelty
