Two and a half weeks ago he was laid out flat. Not moving, barely responsive to voice or touch. He’s kept us on our toes. He’s gained a whole fan club of people hoping for a recovery and yesterday he’s beating all of the odds and rolling in the grass in the South Dakota sunshine! His personality is coming out and we know he’s feeling so much better! Things are still unknown medically including his hearing and eyesight but we are improving one day at a time and that’s all that matters right now. He goes back in Monday to get his stitches removed, his hearing and eyesight checked for any improvements, he will get neutered and vaccinated and all of the good things. Tito we were unsure you would survive to the next day and now you are loving life. With an outstanding vet team, a watchful foster mom and some big love, now we have hope you will one day have a loving family to call your own. We got you!

Looking for someone to spend Valentine’s Day with? Piper is your girl! She is a two year old medium breed sweet heart looking for her forever home! She’s great with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats. She’s housetrained and kennel trained. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Email [email protected] to ask for an application so that you and Piper can start your life together!
We hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday as much as Sid and Angel! We don’t know how these two babies are still looking for homes!
My favorite thing about Rez dogs is how tough they are! Little Ms Roison has broken out of the hospital just 48 hours after she was admitted. That’s half the time they projected when she went in. I think we can all say she’s pretty happy to be on the mend and out. She has three medications she will continue at home and also has to be kept apart from friends for a couple of weeks which we know she won’t be happy about. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and donations to help this little pup. She truly is the sweetest ❤️
Don't get too wound up like Tabitha, it's the weekend! Tabby is an adult cat that's been in foster care for more than six months. She loves toys and playing, and particularly likes acting out WrestleMania with the resident cats. She's a year old so none of the kitten behaviors to train either! This sweet energetic girl is ready for her family to find her! Email [email protected] for an application. If you can’t adopt, SHARE!
This sweet boy continues medication and received steroids for puppy strangles. Norbert we can’t wait for the day when you are 100% healthy❤️. We are so thankful to your family who knew you needed help and let us step up for that.
When the weather is snowy outside there are still plenty of shenanigans inside !
Thank you to our donors that pitched in for a chance to win the quilt! We have a winner! Please inbox us your shipping information !
Against all odds including the numbers on his blood panel, which suggests he should no longer be alive, he is here and fighting. Ghost, we got you, hang in there pup!
We will never know your story. We will never know your past. We just know your rescue. We just know you are safe. Now we need you to hang on with every ounce of fight you have and stay with us. You are rescued baby and we got you.
It’s 97 today here on the reservation. A hot parking lot ground is no place for a baby to die. This sweet boy is on emergency transport to one of our vet clinics right now. Please send some good thoughts, he is going to need them all!
Everyone loves a little puppy play time ! Four weeks old and growing ❤️
It’s Read Across America Day and the only thing we love more than animals is tiny humans! Veya is practicing up on her skills with her foster buddy Carmen .... Carmen hopes her future home will have a reading partner just as good as Veya!

As we all sit and reflect on the year that comes to a close tonight we are thankful for each and every one of you that has helped us make it through another year together. There are so many people and things that happen “behind the scenes” with OPP to get every animal from rescue to adopted. So many hands and hard work to spay a few hundred animals in the summer. Unknown hours in a day getting animals vaccinations, mange meds, dewormer etc. Our techs scheduling appointments and caring for any animal in the clinic that day. Our volunteers who transport and sometimes go out of their way to get animals where they need to go .... the list goes on.
As you get ready for your get togethers with friends tonight we have a small team getting these nine babies and their mom to safety. Tonight they will not sleep outside in the backseat of a car. Tonight they will spend their first New Years together in a warm spot with food and fresh water. Tonight they will be loved, for the first time. Thank you to the volunteers who have worked to rescue these ten. Thanks to our volunteers who care. You make the difference, you make OPP what it is. Happy New Year tiny family, we got you !
You did it, we did it, thank you for making today so very special for us, for the animals and for our reservation community ❤️
