We are ordinary people with a dream to be off the grid and to help others learn as we learn. To have a self-sufficient agritourism farm with an aquaponic garden, geese, turkeys, sheep, goats, and maybe a mini-cow or two. In addition, we are planning to open a café and some shops overlooking the creek. Eventually, we will also be set up for farm stays where people can enjoy the farm setting, eat at

the café, shop at the stores, and participate in various activities. At the moment, we have sheep that are raised to produce meat. We are committed to raising our animals without pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics. The goal is for this farm to become a destination spot as well as a place to enjoy nature and entertainment. We want to connect with the community through the farm and and events. I will continue to keep posting updates. If there are future farmers out there, hopefully you will be encouraged. If there are some who are further along than we are, please post pointers anytime.

Our Story

Welcome to the Heavenly Acres page. We are ordinary people with a dream to be off the grid, and to help others learn as we learn. Our plan? To have a self-sufficient farm that supports us and brings in a stable income to support our family and our ministry.

We raise Dorper sheep. We do not give them grain, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, or any other chemical. They are pastured where they can roam a little and and eat natural grasses. Dorpers are a very hardy breed of hair sheep that adapt well to hot climates, and don’t need shearing. The meat has a very mild flavor, and is not gamy like the meat that comes from wool sheep.

We also raise bees. We have 3 hives, and periodically have excess honey that we sell. We are working on a plan for an aquaponic garden, and in the future, we would like to raise some geese and maybe a mini-cow or two. We are really excited about plans for our dude ranch, where guests can book a day, a weekend, or a week of working with the sheep and other animals on the farm, complete with lodging.

We are also in the process of planning our farm store. In the meantime, we do take appointments and sell at the local farmers’ markets. Once we have the farm store set up, we will sell lamb, fresh honey and honey products, garden fresh skin therapy milk soaps with herbs and essential oils, beautiful salad and herb gardens to go, fresh vegetables, and much more. I will continue to keep posting updates. If there are future farmers out there, hopefully you will be encouraged. If there are some who are further along than we are, please post pointers anytime.
