🐈SOLENSIA 🐈‍⬛

Let’s chat about Solensia for a bit. 👀 This is the feline (cat) version of an OA (Osteoarthritis) injection, just like the dog one we recently talked about for dogs (Librela).

OA is a type of arthritis that happens when the protective tissue in the joints (cartilage) is worn down, causing bones to rub against one another. 🦴

Who is effected?
All cats of all ages and sizes. It’s a chronic pain that is always there. It differs from acute pain, which is pain that lasts a short time and gets better, like that from a cut, scratch, or a pulled muscle. 🐱🐱

Impact and what to watch for ‼️‼️
Difficulty jumping up & down, climbing up the stairs and climbing down the stairs, maybe not running as fast or chasing objects as they once use to…

If your cat is experiencing any of these, please feel free to call the office and we will schedule you an appointment. (270) 665-9146. This injection is monthly and will be done in the office. 🐱

Coffee Animal Clinic is cheering on our bomber basketball team as they head off to state! We are extremely proud of these young men as they represent our small community. We wish them good luck and hope they bring home a trophy! 🏆🏀💚

🐶 We offer Librela injections! 👀

What is Librela?
It’s a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets a key driver of OA pain. Osteoarthritis (OA) being a type of arthritis that happens when protective tissue in the joints is worn down, causing bones to rub against one another. 🦴

Who is effected? 🐶🐾
All dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds it’s not just a condition in older dogs!

Impact and what to watch‼️👀
It can make it hard for your dog to do the things you both love to do together. OA signs in dogs can be subtle and sometimes over looked. Of course if this is a worry please contact your veterinarian (270-665-9146) and discuss this with them. Most signs are limping after exercise, slow to rise, felling stiff, difficulty jumping, etc.

‼️ We are open today 8am to 12pm BUT we ask all to USE EXTREME CAUTION on our driveway/parking lot it is a bit icy and slippery. We have put down melting salts but just keep in mind to use caution, please! Thanks! ❄️☃️
