Natalie Ready has been a dedicated LAR volunteer since 2019, getting involved after her daughter made a donation to the rescue. From there, they started volunteering together—and we’re so glad they did!

Natalie plays a vital role in cat care, helping with everything from daily needs to medical care, including vaccines, medications, and sample collection for tests. For her, the most rewarding part is seeing cats get healthy and find their forever homes. She loves knowing that every effort—big or small—makes a difference.

Thank you, Natalie, for all you do for the cats at LAR! ❤️🐾

March 2nd is International Rescue Cat Day! 🐾🐱

Rescue cats come from all walks of life—some were abandoned, others lost, and many have never known a home of their own. But with love, care, and a little patience, they blossom into the most wonderful companions.

At La Crescent Animal Rescue, we work every day to give these cats a second chance. Today, we celebrate the resilience of rescue cats and the people who open their hearts and their homes to them.

Declawing isn’t just removing a cat’s nails—it’s the amputation of the last bone in each toe. This painful and unnecessary procedure can lead to long-term issues like chronic pain, behavioral problems, and difficulty walking.

Instead of declawing, try these humane alternatives:
🐾 Regular nail trims to keep claws manageable - you can do it yourself at home with the proper tools, have it done by a pet groomer, or ask your vet
🐾 Scratching posts and pads to encourage healthy scratching
🐾 Soft nail caps to prevent damage to furniture
🐾 Positive reinforcement training to redirect scratching behavior

Protect your cat’s health and well-being—say NO to declawing!

What's the most effective way to prevent strays? Spaying and neutering!

February 25th is World Spay Day, and we’re spreading awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering pets. This simple procedure helps reduce overpopulation, prevents countless unwanted litters, and leads to healthier, longer lives for pets.

If you have a pet that isn’t spayed or neutered yet, now is the perfect time to schedule an appointment. You’ll be making a difference in the life of your pet and for animals in need!

Ravenclaw has been oh so patiently waiting for someone to come bring him to a place he can call home.

This sweet boy might not be the first cat to come running up to you when you visit LAR, but given a little individual attention, you'll see just how much love he has to give!

We know there's a perfect home for him out there somewhere. Are you the family he's been waiting for?
