5 weeks old today! Happy birthday to me!

AKC black and tan female puppy, doing great!

I had a big adventure in the grass and flower garden with my momma and my brother this afternoon, and I was exploring all kinds of new sniffs!

I still have a lot of growing to do, but girl oh girl am I learning fast! I am starting to eat this stuff the people call gruel... It's yummy, but not as yummy as momma's milk, and I still get a little scared when she is not close by!

I am brave though, and I can sniff her right out, and I don't even cry when she is not in the room because I can smell her, even when she goes outside, to get a break from us... Although, I don't know why she wants to do that, we are so darn cute!

We had a big adventure in the grass and flower garden with our momma and our people this afternoon, and we were exploring all kinds of new sniffs!

Annie, and the 2 puppies are doing well. Just turned 2 weeks old Saturday. They are feeding well and growing as they should. 1 black and tan male and 1 black and tan female. They opened their eyes right on schedule, and have started exploring. I will post pics soon of these cuties.

I am so sad to say we lost the liver and tan boy tonight. Annie accidentally laid on him and he was not able to get out and she squashed him.

Update on Annie... and puppies.

Went to the vet this morning. X-rays confirmed there were no more puppies to be delivered.
She is doing well and puppies and putting up a good fight. Bottle feeding supplement right now, because she has way too much milk and it is difficult for them to latch on. Annie is a great mom, started eating again today, and is caring for the remaining puppies with TLC. Vet says puppies look and sound good. Next days are critical for puppies.

Annie will be spayed in the near future, after puppies go to new homes.

Update on Annie. This has been a very stressful labor and delivery. Right now it is touch and go. We have 3 survivors out of the litter. She was in labor for a long time and a long time in between puppies... We just lost one of the puppies born yesterday... Was doing fine all night and today would not eat...got very weak, very fast. Please pray the remaining 3 will be fine and Annie will be ok. She seems to be ok right now, and I hope there are no more puppies coming.

Sad news on the bloodhounds front. Poopsie went to the rainbow bridge after a surgery in April. We sure do miss her. Annie had a false pregnancy earlier this year, but we are expecting a litter of puppies on June 5, 2024. This will be her last litter

News on Annie. I am not sure what is going on which my girl. Odd behavior, I NOW believe she has had a pseudo pregnancy, and we are not expecting puppies...and she is in her hear cycle now. The only way to be sure is to take her to the vet for an X-ray.

It's been a whirlwind of a summer and fall is on the way....we have had a lot of rain here in Tennessee, hence the bloodhounds have been experiencing a lot of seasonal allergies, a lot more than usual.

At first, I thought it was typical of East Tennessee, but I got a bit suspicious when they started and have persisted longer and longer.

ALL of them have had super itchy ears, and now, Joker, started loosing his fur. Whenever this happens to
one of them, I typically suspect food formula changes.

Although, Science Diet, has not confirmed, I have found in my research, that, they will be putting out a new design change, and that typically correlates with a formula change, either, a food source change
Small or large.

And, I have also found on various sites, they have had a formula change, and they proudly advertise global ingredient sources.

Now,I am in search of a better, large USA sourced food, for my hounds.

Why, when something works, does a company feel they must change things and put millions of animals health at risk?

There has not been a recall that I am aware of, and if you are feeding Science Diet, and it continues to work, great! Keep using it. I will not. I am so disappointed that the price has gone up to almost $100 a bag, and the quality has seemed to decrease. I'm posting this in hopes to help anyone who has one of our puppies, and may start to experience any health problems.

Look to the food, especially if chicken is a main ingredient. We have not had an allergy, but I am moving away from chicken because I can't be sure if where it is sourced.

I apologize to people who have contacted me about this litter and others may have bombarded you with messages or comments about joining their Facebook group to rehome bloodhounds...

I feel you should do your research if you want a new puppy, or a rescue puppy, or an older dog, and I do help with that.

I do not authorize these... And I do not want them on my page.

I selectively breed AND rescue and I join the groups that I feel are appropriate for these purposes.

I am asking nicely for this practice to stop.
