It’s Tuesday and we are officially naming it: Brianna day!
Bri is one of our receptionists, and she is a pint-sized powerhouse. We call her the ‘sunshine’ of the clinic, because she is always smiling and cheers up anyone within her immediate vicinity.
Bri has been in the veterinary field for seven years, as a technician and a receptionist, and has spent two of the most recent ones with us.
When Bri is not at work, she enjoys spending as much time as she can with her daughter, playing with her three dogs, (Jimbo, Valentino and Archie), and gardening (although she comments that she enjoys it more when she can keep her plants alive. 😁)

Bri has many things she loves about her job and described them perfectly. “I love interacting with clients and getting to know more about them and their pets, and their quirks/stories. It’s very rewarding seeing the transformations of sick pets. I love to solve problems and fit the puzzle pieces together between doctors and clients. I still enjoy the occassional blood draw. And I LOVE being the silly receptionist!”
Thanks for all you do, Bri!

Happy Monday!

The employee to highlight today is Tracy!
Tracy is a large and small animal technician who has been with us for 18 months. She is an LVT of 30 years, and she has worked with a variety of animals, ranging from tiny sugar-gliders to pythons, and even a shark.

Tracy’s hobbies include hiking at Texas state parks, reading, and clearing brush around her yard and garden. She is a resident of Smithville and happily resides there with her spouse of twenty-five years.

When asked about her favorite parts of her job, Tracy answered: “I enjoy doing something different almost every day. I especially love to go out on farm calls, and learn everything I can about large animals.”

We are thankful for the skills and knowledge Tracy brings to our team, and are blessed to have her in our clinic.

We made it to Fri-YAY!

The employee of today is Stacy!

This clinic requires a lot of moving parts to make it what it is, and Stacy is one who keeps it rolling smoothly. She’s one of our kennel techs who says her most favorite thing about her job is “taking the best care of all the sweet babies while they are here with us.” Stacy prides herself on keeping visitors comfortable while they await procedures, keeping them fed and watered while they are hospitalized, and giving them soft, comfortable blankets to make sure they’re cozy. She assists pets with special needs out to potty, like those who may require help walking.
She does many other things throughout the day.

Stacy has two dogs, Prissy and Bean, and enjoys taking them for walks when she is not at work.
We couldn’t do what we do without people like her, and we are so thankful for her devotion and nurturing care for the last five years.

Happy Thursday! The employee to meet today is Brie!

Brie is a technician who only recently started with us, but she brought ten years of veterinary experience with her.

Brie enjoys time with her husband and son when she’s not at work, and playing with her two dogs: a Kelpie named Sniper and a Pit/Lab mix named Scout. Brie is also an avid reader and a self proclaimed bookworm.
When asked about her favorite parts of her job, Brie replied: “The education aspect. I love educating myself; learning all that I can about this field, and educating clients about what I know. I always want to be available to answer questions and help when I can.”
We are excited to get to know Brie more, and we are thankful for everything she brings to the veterinary table.

The employee of the day is Cindy!

Cindy has been a dedicated employee since 2015- special mention that she got here one week before Jesse! (One of our office cats).

Cindy is a receptionist who is especially knowledgeable with computers. Got an issue with something you can’t figure out that involves technology? Chances are- Cindy can help you! Cindy is also one of the voices behind our social media posts, and plays a big part in spreading the news about holiday and weather closures.

Cindy says her favorite things about her job include getting to use her skills that involve her attention to detail, her graphic design talent, and helping animals in need.

Her hobbies include graphic design, photography, and riding her horses. She has two Border Collies, one cat, and 5 horses.
We are thankful for Cindy’s dedication to the clinic and for being an integral part of our team for all these years!

Have you been wondering if we will introduce any of our veterinarians? Well, today is the day!

Meet Dr. Rylee Hatfield!

Dr. Rylee is one of the owners of both Fayette County Veterinary Clinic in La Grange, and Essential Vet Care in Bastrop, TX.
She has been with Fayette County Vet for 9 years.

Dr. Hatfield is a warm soul who emanates kindness and wisdom.

She is the proud wife of Dr. Joseph Hatfield, and mother of their four children, and Rylee says it’s all about them when she is not at work. Riding horses is one of her favorite things she does with her kids, and she enjoys exercising as a hobby.
When asked about her favorite parts of her job, Rylee replied: “I love working with people to keep their pets healthy and happy. To be a part of that special bond between humans and animals. Whether that’s preventing the sound of itching that may drive an owner crazy at night, or helping a young kid win at the play day by making sure their horse is in good health. It’s all special to me, and it’s an honor to do what we do.”
Thank you for everything you do, Dr. Rylee!

Happy Monday! The employee to introduce to you today is Jessica.

Jessica (also known as Jess) started her journey with us in 2017.
She has been a technician and a receptionist. Her primary spot now is a friendly face at the front desk, but she still helps with animals when she can. She is especially gifted with handling aggressive dogs, and she has a heart as big as Texas and would do just about anything to make someone smile. Jess enjoys hunting and fishing, and is a self proclaimed adrenaline ju**ie. She has 3 dogs: Redd, Tank, and Roux, and one cat: Ringo. She also enjoys spending time with her horses. She describes her favorite things about her job simply: “I enjoy helping anyone I can, both up front and in the back, and I have enjoyed making friends and family that will last a life time.”
Thank you for all of your continued dedication, Jess!

Sunday Staff Spotlight: Lanie
Lanie has been with us for a year. She is a large and small animal technician who can be seen pushing cattle or wrangling wiggly puppies.
When Lanie is not at work, she can be found hanging out with her boyfriend, Colton, and her Labrador Retriever, Josie.
Lanie has a tremedous sense of humor, and as our resident ‘life of the party,’ always knows when we need a good laugh. She says her favorite part about her job is learning about animal anatomy, and getting to discover more about how their bodies work.
We are thankful to have Lanie on our team!

Saturday Staff Spotlight: Claire

Claire has been with us since 2016. She started at the Retreat, taking care of pets who were boarding and being groomed, and doing kennels on the weekends.

Claire moved across the street to the front desk of the clinic, and we are thrilled to have her! She is the type of person who would drop everything to help someone, humans and animals alike. She is quite comical and always keeps us laughing! We’ve also never met a puppy that she could resist holding. 😁

Claire is our resident makeup artist. When she’s not at work, she loves to shop, as well as spend time with her family, friends, and pets. Claire says her favorite parts of her job are the bonds she’s formed with her co-workers, getting to know the clients over the years, and being able to help animals in need. We are grateful for her continual support of our clinic and all the effort she puts in every day!

This morning’s staff spotlight: Savannah

Savannah is a receptionist that started her journey with us in 2012. She started out as a technician and eventually moved to the front desk. She is one of our social media voices, and an employee who insists on team building exercises whenever possible, always one to remind the team how important we are as a unit.
When she’s not at work, she can be found spending as much time as possible with her two children and husband, writing, reading, and coaching her kids’ Little League teams.
Savannah described her favorite part of her job: “I love animals, but I truly enjoy helping people. I like to be there for all of their moments - the happy ones; celebrations of good news and lives saved, but also the difficult ones. When I can reach my hand across the counter to someone who is trying to hold it together and say, ‘I see you, I know this is hard, I am here for you.”

We are blessed to have Savannah on our team and are thankful for her many years of dedication to this clinic.
