Just a note to let everyone know what has been going on at Jeric’s Boarding Kennel.
I had back surgery on December 16,2024. Everything is progressing as it should! We have not been taking as many boarder as usual. Husband has been doing the kennel work and I have been recouping. We should be back to normal by the end of February. Looking forward to getting back to work and seeing all my doggy and human customers and friends!!

This is something every new puppy owner should see. As a breeder I have tried to explain why puppies don’t need “forced walks”. ( on lead for long distances)

When you get your 8 week old puppies, please keep these images in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

When you're letting your puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

As August is my 79th birthday I have been starting to realize that I need to do some kennel cleaning. Dog wise. I love my dogs to much but I would like to place several girls, 3-4 years old, one girl that is one year old . Most of what I own is older dogs that need to stay where they are, but these young girls deserve a home of their own. I also have a 5 month old male puppy that has a birth defect. One ear leather is not completely formed. He hears and tells you what he wants and seems to be normal (stubborn) like any other 5 month old. If anyone might be interested please contact me on FaceBook. I would love to talk to you and send you some photos. Terms would be spay or neuter contract and a fenced in area.

Seems that lots of you have been looking!! Thanks for checking. It is time to get busy again. Easter Runs are only lacking one run for us to be full.

Pups are doing GREAT! The whelping room is to small to get good photos. EXCEPT when they are sleeping!! Hope for some sunshine for cute photos. They are being GOOD puppies and starting to go to the outside part of the puppy room to go potty!!! Not 100% but doing great with it although it is a little cool. They are undercover so staying dry. SMART PUPPIES!
