IMPORTANT MESSAGE...PLEASE READ!
To all of our incredible La Grange store customers:
It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the closing of our La Grange location. This decision did not come easily, however over the past 2 years in La Grange our business has been hit hard by a variety of factors, predominantly significant losses in sales which are most likely due to increased competition from larger stores and online pet supply sites. Those losses, combined with increases in operating costs, have created a financial burden that we can no longer sustain.
To be clear, this affects our La Grange Location Only!
Our Brookfield location (8520 Brookfield Ave) will remain open and is performing well…we have NO plans to close that store!
Your Bonus Bucks rewards, Astro credits, gift cards, information, etc. will remain unchanged and you will be able to use everything at the Brookfield location. We offer Buy Online Pick-up In-Store (theurbanmuttstore.com), and Brookfield is only a short drive (7 minutes) from La Grange…we’ll even bring it out to your car for you! If you have Special Orders, those will be transferred to Brookfield as well. Our last day open for sales will be January 17th…after that, we can arrange pickup of items (if you cannot make it to the Brookfield location) until we vacate the space on January 31st.
We know this decision will come as a shock, especially since we’ve gotten to know many of you and your pets like family over the years, and making this decision was one of the hardest things we’ve had to do as business owners. We’ve been truly honored to serve you all at this location; watching puppies grow up, sharing in sadness when beloved companions pass, and forming bonds that we hope will continue even after our doors close. We’ve often joked that if any of our four-legged customers ever got loose, you would probably find them at the store waiting for treats. While we understand that this announcement may seem like we’re leaving you, don’t forget that we’ll be just a few minutes away so you can come and see us any time you want! We expect there will be lots of questions, so if there’s anything you need help with or are concerned about, please don’t hesitate to call or email us. If you haven't already, please follow our The Urban Mutt - Brookfield page since that is where we will be posting information about events, sales, etc., going forward.
