Pretty big day for me. After my struggles in 2022/23 getting my croc skinks dialed in, it finally paid off. My first baby red eyed crocodile skink. Over the moon about this. Thanks and for guiding me on these guys! It's so easy to get down on your failures but the moments like this make it all worth it.

Picked up this Mount k male in 2022 as a baby from Alec Feldman. He's set to be a monster, the parents are the last 2 slides. He kept hitting the glass while I work, I thought he was being super cage aggressive, nope turns out he was hitting his own reflection, still sweet as can be, even decided to sleep on my shoulder. But he did get moved to a different spot, so hopefully the reflection isn't as strong.

The new black tree monitors are doing great. Voracious eaters and are already taking dubia put of a cup while I hold it. They absolutely crushed their quail on sunday. The male is way more shy than the female, but he's coming around.

Hatched my first Chahoua today! Laid on April 18th and hatched August 3rd. This is the offspring of 2 chewies I got from last year. I paired them up in December and this is from her first clutch. There is one more egg due to hatch, I'll post that one to the story.

More eggs from my pair that I setup this year. This is the 3rd clutch from this pair. The baby I just hatched is from them. Pretty proud that they're working out so well. Getting a clutch every 45-60 days from them.

Well after all the bad parts of breeding this year, I finally got good news. I hatched my first leachie! This is from my first pairings first clutch! I'm beyond stoked. The sire is a gtx with heavy reds from the Hampers, and the dam is a GTCxPI from . The egg was laid on 2-14, so it was a fairly long Incubation. Goes without saying this little ones name is Valentine's. Gonna hold this one back because I want to see how red it gets. You can already see nice red bars on it. Finally feeling like things are getting back on track.

Been feeling like a failure lately with the animals. Doesn't seem like things are going my way this year. All it took was me playing with my favorite little goobers here to remind me how much I love these animals. Seeing where they're at now after raising them from babies from , just blows me away. Super friendly and getting big, makes me think I did something right at least.

The baby gilleni I got from at the beginning of the year are all grown up. Looks like I ended up with 2 females though. They have so much personality though and even warmed up enough that I can give them scratches and hand feed them. Such cool little animals. Such judgy little faces though.

Go check out They're doing great things to conserve the most vulnerable crocodilians and alligators. Like this slender snouted crocodile, of which there are less than 500 left in the wild. This one is a melanistic, and was surprisingly soft.

Crazy how tiny these guys are. This one has a little kink in the tail unfortunately. May end up as a holdback or a discount. For being so small they're pretty fearless, I can give them little head scratches and they dont run at all.
