I want to introduce you to my new friend, Jean ("as in blue jean," she said). While Jean has many challenges in her life, she was always smiling, soaking everything in, and kind.
When they came to the farm this morning for our lei-making class, she and her two loving sisters got out of the car, and I immediately brought them a flower from our Veracruz Rose tree. I handed it to her, and she wouldn't let go of it or even take it away from her nose. And then she said, "This reminds me of Mom." Her sisters said that their mother loved roses. (If you've smelled Veracruz Rose, you know why it brought back that memory.)
After the class, I gave her a fun, yet gentle, ride around the farm in the golf cart. She was smiling from ear to ear.
So, I thought I would pass along some of the beautiful mana from this amazing woman to you today. Breathe it in and allow it to live in you. We were blessed by her.

We've been trimming this for a few years for our friend. But as soon as you cut the branches, immediately within a couple weeks gets multiple new branches growing out of that stump. This is not a ground grower, it is a grow up and then grow down. Very strange. We only trim it now if it's in the sidewalk or the driveway. Otherwise, we're just letting it do its thing and enjoying the flowers...
