This is especially true if your dog is reactive!!
They don’t have to want to meet every dog on the side walk. They’re allowed to be nervous.
It’s your job to help them feel safe. And sometimes that means skipping a meet and greet!
Socialization is all about baby steps. Once your dog feels safe, then you can start practicing calm introductions.
How do you tell strangers your dog needs space?

You’re gonna want to take notes!
If you’ve ever trained with me, you know energy is everything if you want your dog to listen.
And this 5 year old gets it!
She’s walking with her head high, and expecting her dog to listen while she says the command. Her tone is kind and firm.
Everything about her screams “we got this”!
Bring this energy next time you train, and let me know how well it goes🌟

Something extra if you want to show off and have some fun😊

We don’t mess around in private training sessions 😎
Rocky, a 6 month old Mastiff, is learning how to be in tune with mom. And mom is learning how to lead him with calm confidence.
This is how I want you to feel at the end of every training session. Amazed at how in sync you are with your dog!

This could happen to you.
You’re at the dog park, and a dog shows up who’s playing too aggressively with your dog. They’re all the way on the other side. You’re worried for your dog’s safety, so you call them and…
They come!
This is why you train. To protect your dog when they need you ❤️

I appreciate you, but more importantly…
Your DOG appreciates you!
Not everyone makes the decision to invest time or money into training. Fewer have the patience to stay consistent.
But this year I’ve had dozens of clients who did their research, asked for help, and put in the work.
Now their dogs are happier, safer, and calmer. And it’s all thanks to them 💕💕
I know it’s not easy, but training is the best gift you can give your dog.
Happy Turkey Day!!

Great aunt Sheryl isn’t TRYING to traumatize your dog…
But you can still avoid an anxiety-induced barking fit by practicing ahead of time!

Loud noises can be overstimulating to puppies, UNLESS…
You arm them with the tools to feel calm and confident ❤️
You’re doing great raising your puppy, and I’m always here to help if you need a hand!

Training doesn’t have to be active 100% of the time.
Your dog reads your body language. So when you enjoy time being calm together (even around chaos), your dog will take a cue and learn to be calm too.
Plus you get to enjoy some fresh air, and feel productive doing it!

Some puppies don’t know how to relax after a day of fun.
But you can help them learn!
Tethering has your puppy stay in one place until they’re calm.
It teaches them to self soothe and unwind - an important skill for everybody!
Your puppy won’t like it very much the first couple times. Just make sure they’re in a safe environment, and remain calm to serve as a role model.
And as soon as they calm down, they deserve a tasty treat!

Remember: it doesn’t always have to be all or nothing!
Take baby steps, and your puppy will nail it down eventually!
