We’re thrilled to welcome Mitchell Turner-Beasley as La Porte’s new Animal Shelter Supervisor! 🐾 Mitchell brings a big heart for animals and a strong focus on community. He’s leading positive changes at the shelter, from fostering programs to mandatory microchipping. And it starts this weekend!

Join the La Porte Animal Shelter this Saturday, July 19 from 7–11 AM at 1302 S Broadway St for a free microchipping and vaccination event. Pets will receive core vaccines, rabies shots, and microchips at no cost.

From everyone here and heavy hearts we pray for the pain of such a great lost. Also may our hero U.S. Marshall K-9 Rocky return back home with his family for a speedy recovery.

Luckiest dog I've seen' | Vet says bullet narrowly missed K-9 Rocky's spine when suspect shot him
One of the veterinarians treating the heroic K-9 said he's eating and moving around and should make a full recovery and be able to return to duty.

K-9 Rocky continues to recover after being shot yesterday in southwest Houston. Rocky was shot by the man who investigators say killed Brazoria Co. Deputy Jesus Vargas. The K-9 officer was shot when he found the suspect in a dumpster.

Rocky's handler stayed overnight at the hospital and hasn't left his side.

Please take a moment and say a prayer, though or just a simple loving words, to the fur pets and wild life getting left behind, lost and even those taken to a safe areas yet strange place. I have heard story after story how this fire has destroyed some many lifes, even animals. People refusing to leave less their live stock is safe. We know how that feels since we have mother nature hit us with hurricanes and at time tornadoes. Let's band together and send positive, loving, caring, passionate hugs and vibes to those animals, wild or domestic.
