As Reba turns 8 months shortly its important to review our training and redouble efforts. As this is the teenage months coming up. Puppy personality will start to morph. A little less playful, a little more serious. The breed hardware that comes from the factory starts coming on line. The core traits of a breed start becoming a lot more apparent and need to be molded into positive behaviors.

Reba is much better trained than I feared but not nearly as well trained as I had hoped. She will occasionally look at me and be like..."So dad I know what you said but ehh"! Certain behaviors which had been cultivated properly have slid back to naughty recently as she shifts her personality. Barrier aggresion being the chief one of these.

Always keep training, time to get back to training!

Puppies get sick!

Reba had a stomach bug due to eating silly things in the yard. Puppies eat silly things and get sick. Its part of the puppy fun.

After a full day of not wanting to eat and bathroom issues we were concerned but she was drinking and active just not puppy excited active. We offered a bland meal of cooked chicken mixed with rice and cottage cheese. She ate it, and after a good night sleep was back to normal.

Thankfully she was ok but it was dramatic! Deciding when to head to the vet is a personal decision, but for us as long as she was not lethargic, drinking, and no blood in the bathroom activities we waited.

Thankfully we have a good vet already, but this highlights its important to have a relationship with a local vet who you can call for advice, or visit for urgent care and forbid emergency care.
