Mission Statement

I Dream of Home Rescue's (IDOHR) mission is to rescue abandoned, unwanted and surrendered animals. While we search for loving homes, we give them what all animals deserve: shelter, food, veterinary care, and love. IDOHR will also advocate and educate on the importance of pet adoption, spaying, neutering and proper pet care.IDOHR Board of Directors has the sole responsibility fo

r approving all adopters and fosters. IDOHR does not adopt to out-of-state or out-of-country adopters. All adopters and fosters must live in the state of California and complete an adoption or foster application and contract. Refusal to do so is the reason to be denied for adopting or fostering. IDOHR pays for all the dog's medical needs, spay, vaccinations, microchip, collars, food, leash, bed, and any other required dog needs. The rescue provides for all of this anything purchased outside of the rescue must be approved by the board of directors prior to purchase or services. IDOHR will not be responsible for expenses for any dog where the foster or adopter has not received prior IDOHR Board of Director approval. Foster Responsibilities:

Help us cover the care Creme received!

We recently met a sweet little one named Creme who needs our help. A kind person found her and, thinking she was pregnant, took her to the vet we often work with. Creme was scanned for a microchip (none found), had bloodwork, x-rays, and even had exploratory surgery. It turned out she was already spayed, and her eye issue is congenital. She was also boarded for nine days. The total cost of her care came to $917.49.

The finder initially offered to cover the bill but could only pay $100, leaving us with a balance of $861. This unexpected expense has left us in need of support.

Foster Needed Urgently!

A sweet Momma and her puppy were found in the driveway of a neighbor's friend in Alta Loma. They've done everything they can to locate their owner—no microchips were found, and they've hung flyers in the neighborhood—but sadly, no one has come forward.

We want to keep this little family out of the shelter, but we need your help! We’re urgently seeking a foster home for them. If you can open your heart and home to these two, or if you know someone who can, please contact us as soon as possible.

Your help can make all the difference in giving this Momma and her baby the safe, loving environment they need!

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from I Dream of Home Rescue! 🍁

Today, we thank all the incredible people who make our mission possible: our fosters, adopters, volunteers, donors, and supporters. Because of your support and generosity, we have been able to help many animals find safety, care, and their forever homes.

As we celebrate today, let’s not forget the ones still in rescues and shelters waiting for their chance at a loving home. Every share, donation, and act of kindness makes a difference. Together, we can give them something to be thankful for, too.

We have a feral mama with 5 kittens. They are about 5-6 weeks old...

They are eating both wet and dry food, and lapping water/formula. They are also using the litter box. All have been super healthy with no signs of URI and stool is firm.

Unfortunately I had to remove them from their mama in order to socialize them. Mama was making the process hard and they started becoming spicy.

They are fine now... but I'm looking for fosters near the Inland Empire area ie Riverside, Ontario, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Pomona, Chino, San Dimas, Glendora etc, or Foster to Adopt Program. Both type of Fosters would be under rescue supervision for all medical care. They "all" DO NOT have to go to one foster. They can be split up.

IDOHR would be responsible for their medical care, food, and necessities.

Yesterday marked the triumphant conclusion of our 3-day adoption event at Petsmart Pasadena. With an outpouring of community support, we welcomed countless visitors and facilitated 7 successful adoptions, upholding our rigorous process. Our comprehensive approach - application, interview, home check, and meet & greet - ensured the perfect matches. I was thrilled to share this experience with my grandson. Each adoptee's story showcases resilience: Eire, once on the euthanasia list, now thrives; Raven and Beanie, once abandoned, found unity; Duke, Olympus, and Clara, discarded kittens, discovered love; and Zeus, a stray, blossomed. More applications await review, but this event sparked hope. Our raffle raised $150, and gratitude abounds to all who contributed to this life-changing weekend.

URGENT: Help Needed for Dusty!

Meet Dusty, a sweet and energetic 10-month-old Border Collie who needs our help. His mom, Mysty, found a wonderful forever home with the help of a wonderful I Dream of Home Rescue adopter just a few months ago, and now it’s Dusty’s turn.

Originally, Dusty’s owners decided to keep him, but they realized they could no longer accommodate him. If we can’t find a foster, adopter, or rescue willing to take Dusty in, he’ll be headed to a shelter, and we want to avoid that at all costs.

Dusty is a playful, intelligent pup with so much potential and love to give. We know his perfect match is out there!

If you or anyone you know can foster, adopt, or connect us with a rescue that can help, please reach out as soon as possible. Let’s work together to find this boy a loving home like his mom!

🚨 Attention, everyone! 🚨

Do you remember Snoopy and Hugo, the two adorable pups my neighbor surrendered? They are currently in in-home boarding and could really use some help to get back on their feet!

First off, they need a grooming session! 🛁💇‍♂️ We need to raise about $70 per dog to get them groomed, so any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. You can send donations via Venmo or Zelle [email protected]. Every bit helps keep these pups happy and healthy!

Secondly, they NEED FOSTERS! 🏠 If you've been thinking about fostering, now is the perfect time to step up. Snoopy and Hugo are sweet and ready to be loved—they just need YOU to provide them with a temporary home while they wait for adoption.

There is something incredibly special about a breed that carries a negative reputation, and a dog that breaks every stereotype.

Greycie has been the most amazing girl ever since she was rescued.

Time and time again, she has shown the world that Power Breeds can coexist with other dogs, both big and small, in the household. She has proven her exceptional manners while out in public, even accompanying her fosters on errands, sometimes to medical facilities.

But this post isn’t about that. This post is about Love and Loyalty.

One day last week, her foster took her and her foster brother for a walk. For reference, their combined weight is approximately 150 pounds, give or take. Everything was going well until, out of nowhere, a German Shepherd came from behind and attacked their handler. It was sudden and unprovoked.

Greycie’s foster was on the ground when Tama quickly turned around, grabbed the Shepherd, and flung him about seven feet away. Greycie then took the lead and charged at the dog, making him run away.

But the most amazing part of this story is that neither dog needed to be recalled. Instinctively, they both returned to their foster to make sure he was okay, licking him to reassure him that he was safe and everything was under control.

They did not pursue the German Shepherd further, nor did they redirect aggression toward each other.

These two were perfection. They protected their loved one but did not escalate the situation.

If, after reading this, you still have any doubts about what an AMAZING girl Greycie is, I’m not sure what to say!

She would make the most wonderful addition to your family. She loves fiercely and would fit in beautifully.

Greycie is truly an ambassador for her breed.

Hello! My name is Autumn and I cannot express enough how much I love playing! I love playing with other dogs, people, and toys! My foster mom thinks I get a little too crazy when I play because I make a lot of noise for as small as I am, but I tell her it's no different than a person laughing because they are having fun! On July 13, 2024, Eva King, an IDOHR alumni and friend, posted this: "I’m not the Agent that will walk away. I’m fully involved when it comes to animals on a premises in need. This home I previewed for a client today was vacant And although it seemed people would come in to work on the home …..it was hot and these dogs didn’t have fresh water in that bucket. I made sure to refresh the water. The female pitty wasn’t as fond of water as the boxer hunk. She was sweet as can be and has the most beautiful face. I messaged the Listing Agent and told her those dogs needed attention. I told her to contact the owner to go clean that bucket and feed them because the bowl looked dusty."
