He is loyal and loves to give and receive attention and affection. He thrives off of human interaction. He has been adopted out twice without success. The first time he left the shelter, he was with family with children, but he was not the best fit for toddler-aged children. In the second placement, the return adopters took a lot of time meeting several dogs that would be a good fit for the host dog. The meet and greet went well, but once they got home, there was a grumble over the water dish. There wasn’t an attack, but it appears that there was perhaps some resource guarding while in the company of another dog. We want what is best for families and for our shelter animals, so we are sharing this knowledge in hopes that Ollie’s next placement is forever. We want to get it right for him and for his adoptive family. In an ideal world for Ollie, he would do fantastic as an only dog. We do not want to place him in a family with young children. Ollie has great qualities. He is affectionate. He is easy on a leash, and he rides well in the car. He is obedient, but true to the breed, he can have a stubborn streak on occasion too. He is a large dog, and yes, he sheds. Please educate yourself on the Great Pyrenees breed before applying. Great Pyrenees is a great dog breed, but this breed isn’t for everyone.

Kate (DOB 3/12/23) is the cutest 19 pound, wire-haired terrier mix. She has pep in her step and has a happy-go-lucky personality without a care in the world. She has done well on a leash.
She likes to hang out with her friend Joanna as she waits for her adopter.
Unfortunately, Kate did test positive for heartworm. The ARK will cover the cost of treatment. Please ask the adoption desk about heartworm or heartworm treatment if you have any questions.
Joanna is 23 pounds and is solid. She is brindle, and we do not know her breed. She is a bit on the shy side but friendly nevertheless. She doesn’t feel comfortable on a leash, but she doesn’t fight it either; she will put on the brakes and will sink into the pavement instead. A calm introduction works best with Joanna.
She likes to hang with her friend Kate as she waits for her adopter.

Romeo and Juliet
These two were found roaming in their neighborhood and picked up by animal control. The owners never came for them:(
Now they have been at the shelter for over a year. Bonded dogs are difficult to adopt out. Romeo and Juliet also need a home without cats and other dogs. Placement has become increasingly challenging.
This is a bonded, adult pair. They will be adopted together.
Romeo is a black, shaggy terrier and weighs a little over 30 pounds. He is attentive and treat motivated. He is also the dominant dog in the pair.
Juliet is a tan and black terrier. She is also attentive and the gentler personality of the pair. She weighs 46 pounds.

🚨Moose has been here for 1,379 days and needs a loving home. Please consider clicking the link below to give this loving guy a chance at a happy life.🏠⬇️

Moose thinks he is training for the Kentucky Derby. Maybe he thinks he is a Greyhound. He has the drive of a Malinois. One thing is for sure: Moose loves to run laps with his ball and play fetch. Moose takes the word “retriever” very seriously and would love to retrieve all day long.
Moose’s birthdate is 1/1/19. Moose’s intake date was 10/22/20. Moose was adopted on 12/4/20 and returned in the beginning of July 2021.
Do the math, and you will quickly realize that Moose has spent an abundance of his life at the shelter. He has gone on trial adoptions, but as one person stated, “That’s a lot of dog.”
We know Moose needs a special adopter. Someone that understands a dog with a strong desire to retrieve. Maybe someone with an active lifestyle. How wonderful would it be for Moose to have a home with lots and lots of land?
Moose is dog selective, so he may be best suited in a home where he is the only dog.
Moose is attentive and obedient and “a lot of dog”. Call or email the shelter if you would like know more about MOOSE.
