Sharing here because this sweet fellow who followed me home from a run 3 weeks ago would be a wonderful and faithful farm dog.
It's been almost a month since Boy followed me home. I've since shared his info to every local lost pet page I could think of and checked if he was reported missing at HCAC... No leads, looks like he was likely dumped.
On this Friday the 31st, which also marks 1 month since we met, he will be getting his neuter sutures out and we will be -
Ready to find him a forever home!
Asking small rehoming fee which amounts to about 10% of vet costs, thank you for understanding - this was no small undertaking for our family.
Last week he had a vet check, he's now:
✅ Neutered
✅ Microchipped
✅ Heart Worm Negative and on preventatives
✅ F***l Checked and dewormed accordingly
✅ Current on Rabies 💉
✅ Prescribed flea & tick prevention
✅ A proven champ at the vet's office, they praised him for being such a good boy during his visit and he did great meeting another dog in the office.
He will come with:
➡ Current food
➡ Harness and retractable lead
➡ Remainder of prescribed preventatives and microchip info for transfer into new owner's name.
What we know about him:
💚 Young, under 2 according to vet/AC
🤔 Looks like a Heeler mix
❤ Gentle, Playful and Smart!
💛 Food motivated
💜 Now knows sit, kennel (goes straight in when I let him in the house door), stays close easily with voice recall.
🚗 Rides well in car/back of truck under cover and does well in public on lead, can benefit from more practice to build confidence on lead.
💙 Great alert dog, will bark at anything he finds out of place but calms down when you let him know you hear/see it too. His bark is a great bluff, very convincing, but he's gentle in every encounter even with strangers coming in the yard.
💗 Enjoys chew type toys and real raw bones that we've given him, needs tough toys for chewing like a Kong, etc.
😂 Gets the Zoomies if you try to play fetch with him.
💕 Loves kids, plays well with our 3, 8, 10 and 13 year olds.
💖 Has met my cat successfully but has not been unsupervised around her. I would recommend checking his tolerance of new things in a controlled way since we know so little about him.
⬇ Last pic shows how much he loves the lavender bush. He smells very pleasantly aromatic when I bring him inside from the yard. 😆
