Our Story

Dr. Cheri Hooper joined the team at College Park Road Veterinary Clinic in 2007 after a few years of practicing emergency medicine in Mt. Pleasant and North Charleston. Joining a team led by Dr. Joe McKenzie, Dr. Hooper was able to hone her skills on multiple soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries and enjoy the rewards of developing long term relationships with clients and patients.

In 2015 Dr. Hooper purchased the practice from Dr. McKenzie and began the exciting and rewarding capacity of business ownership. She has assembled a team and surrounded herself with individuals that reflect her values regarding compassion for quality animal health, communication, and education of pet owners and most importantly, fostering a culture of caring, support and FUN!

Today, after 5 years of ownership the practice has grown significantly and added many additional services. In addition to full digital standard x-ray suite AND dental specific x-ray, the medical team at College Park Road Veterinary Clinic offers an array of surgeries for your pets with the compliment of ultra-sound, therapeutic laser treatments and a full offering of in-house laboratory tests/equipment. These tools and training allow the staff to diagnose issues and correct them, in-turn returning your loved one back to optimal health.

Next door to the practice is College Park Road Boarding Kennel. With its 36 indoor/outdoor conditioned kennels, a VIP boarding room, a cat boarding room, basic grooming services and day care services, College Park Road Boarding Kennel is sure to meet your needs when leaving town and looking for someone that will care for your pet in the same fashion as you would.
