Today is our Hospital Manager Jessica’s 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY at Mountain Ridge Animal Hospital!! Jess started as a Vet Tech here, then became our Lead Vet Tech, and then moved to managing the hospital. She has been our manager for the past 3 years now and is the glue that holds the team together. We love you Jess. Cheers to a decade of helping animals, their people, and our MRAH Team! Thank you!!

JUNE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH:
Brigitte
Veterinary Assistant

Brigitte has a drive to succeed which makes her a great fit for our medical team here at Mountain Ridge!

We asked Brigitte how she became interested in working with animals and she said: “Our family dog had to go under for spinal surgery not once, but TWICE, and I felt helpless not really understanding what would come of it. I turned that into a positive energy, and decided to learn and understand veterinary medicine!” Brigitte ended up getting a job in a veterinary clinic shortly after that. We love that story! Brigitte is originally from Belmar, New Jersey. She describes her pets as her “son” Liam- he’s a 6-year-old pit-bull mix, and her “daughter” Harlow- she’s a 4 year old husky mix! Brigitte says she enjoys outdoor activities such as snowboarding and hiking, but she also loves to just hang out and have a good nap with her dogs.

Tidbits & Trifles:

Fav TV Show of all time: She has watched the show “The Office” from beginning to end, at least 7 times!

Vroom Vroom: She rides motorcycles!

A Day in the Life:

“I absolutely love providing the best care for every animal that comes into my care each day. Sending them back home with their families afterwards is the best feeling.”

Hannah is an animal lover through and through! This makes her a great fit for the MRAH Team!

Hannah says she always wanted to work with animals. Her parents have told her that since age 4 she has been saying that she wanted to be a Vet. Hannah is originally from Northern Virginia and she has two pets- a cat named Eowyn and a betta fish named Soy Sauce. In her down time, Hannah trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! She also loves playing Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the Gathering. She also finds happiness drawing and painting, and playing rec league volleyball.

Lady with the brains: “I am currently in grad school at CU getting my PhD in biochemistry”

This credit can be used on anything you want at our hospital! You can put the credit towards: your pets exam fee, vaccines, medication, surgery, food, treats... anything!

Gretchen
Vet Tech (RVT)

Gretchen is a hard worker, and is not afraid to take on a challenge! We are so happy to have her on the Mountain Ridge Animal Hospital team

Originally from Minnesota, Gretchen recalls always loving animals and has fond memories of taking stray pets home when she was younger. What got her into loving Vet Med was her soul dog needed a Vet appointment, and when she went in for his appointment, Gretchen was offered a job as a receptionist. The decision of saying yes to that job is what started her 17-year career! Gretchen is very well rounded in the field; she has actually enjoyed working in all aspects of the vet field. Gretchen has worked in general practice, emergency, and also in specialty departments such as oncology, cardiology, and radiology! Gretchen said “ I enjoy knowledge, so the more I know, the better technician I can be”. We absolutely love that about her! Gretchen also loves rescuing senior dogs and giving them their best life. When Gretchen is not at work, you can find her at home loving on her dogs.

Tidbits & Trifles:

Collecting Happiness: “I collect a lot of Chicago cubs baseball and hockey items. Also, a new hobby in the last year is my plant collection. My dogs are my kids, and my plants are my pets” (We think that is the best quote ever!)

Colorful Pups: You can sometimes find Gretchen’s dogs with fun-colored died tails. They are the cutest crew ever!

A Day in the Life:

What is your favorite part about your job?:
“My favorite part of my job is the patients. An animal can always brighten my day, and I also enjoy getting to know the owners and being able to chat with them!”

MARCH EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH:
Michelle
Doggy Daycare & Boarding Attendant

Michelle sees the best in everyone. She pays attention to detail and is a kind person. The dogs in daycare always want to snuggle up to her! She is a great addition to our team at Mountain Ridge!

Michelle says it all started when she was a kid; she remembers the day that her parents added a furry friend to the family, their very first pet, which was a basset hound named Lucky! She loved taking care of him, especially when she got to take him on long walks and give him baths. He also would let Michelle dress him up in little shirts when he would get cold, what a good boy! Later on, her family also added a kitten to the pack. Around this time is when Michelle noticed her love for animals was growing more and more, they made her feel so happy, their happy smiles and wagging tails made for the best company! Michelle is originally from El Paso, Texas and she moved to Colorado when she was 5 years old. She currently has two cats: Oero and Chubbs, the domestic longhair cats. She also has one dog: Odie, a terrier mix. In her time off, she loves baking cakes and little desserts, hiking, and playing soccer.

Hello Hi There!: She is very outgoing and likes meeting new people. She also loves spending time with family and friends

Travel Buddy: Michelle enjoys taking her dog Odie on different hikes around Boulder or Winter Park and they also love exploring different states and going on roads trips

Wowza!: Michelle taught herself how to play the acoustic guitar!

A Day in the Life:

“My favorite part about this job is interacting with the clients, and getting to know them and their doggies or cats. I also love getting to play with the dogs and getting to know my co-workers, it makes for a fun work day!”
