What an amazing breed that we think deserves more than a day, but hey! We don't make the rules 🤣

This sweet baby grew up in the crawfish ponds of Lafayette and has retired to the snowy escapes of Utah.

Here is Emma being the bestest girl 🐶

*** Scam alert***

We have received complaints this evening of clients being scammed by an individual who pretends to be calling from a local veterinary clinic here in Lafayette asking for money to provide a life saving surgery for their missing pet.

These pets are all missing and can easily be identified by the missing posters and posts, giving credibility to the scammer.

When these owners have returned the call to the clinic name they are given it is forwarded to us, which has allowed us to figure out a scamming situation is occurring.

*** Do NOT give payment information over the phone if you are contacted about your missing pet ***

This is a new low and really depressing for animal care professionals and owners who are in vulnerable situations.

We cared for so many pets during this historic week ❄️🐶😸

There is a crew of Veterinary technicians that haven't left work, they have slept at the clinic, and stayed by your pets side. As an emergency room we have plans in place to keep employees safe and still provide emergency care. This weather tested those plans but a Veterinarian and three Technicians got the job done!!

We are never short on technicians volunteering to hunker down at work, it's actually amazing 😍

Something else that's amazing.... ALL of the primary veterinarians in town calling and texting and making sure we came together as a town to have safe coverage. They checked on their patients and us !

Our *Snow team* was beyond happy to help and our doctors made sure they got to play in the snow too!

Jessica has been with our team for 18 years!!! She teaches agriscience and welding at Acadiana High and is the coach of the Veterinary Science Team

Jessica lives with her husband and adorable daughter in the Scott area ❤️❤️

We are planning on opening at 5pm tomorrow.

We will be open normal hours this evening starting at 5pm and closing at 8am

We are doing our best to reopen tomorrow evening and will keep everyone posted here when we know exactly how road conditions will be.

Please make sure that you call your primary veterinarian ASAP for meds and food before 5pm today.

Opelousas Friends… please help!

There was a terrible car accident about a mile north of the clinic on Highway 182 tonight. One of the families lost their dog in the accident. We are unsure of many details on the dog as the family had to go to the hospital but we were able to get this photo from them. The dog goes by Scout. If you see him/her, PLEASE contact the clinic as soon as possible so we can get in touch with the family.

Meet our clinic cats! Fez (R) and Rona (L) have been with us for over 4 years! If you come in make sure to give them some love. Fez loves pets but isn't the biggest fan of being held but he will sit in your lap for hours! You'll most likely see Rona wandering around outside looking for a nice spot to sunbathe☀️ while their years here at the ER have been fun they've also been some hard working kitties, both Fez and Rona donate blood to other cats in need!
