Metro was adopted from us as a puppy a few months ago, but his owner is moving and pets are not allowed. His previous adopter said he's absolutely perfect:

👶 Good with kids
🐱Good with cats
🐶Good with dogs
🏠House trained

Metro is only 6 months old. We suspect he is a Chow mix with those adorable purple splotches on his tongue 💜

Who will be the new lucky owner of Metro? His adoption fee is ZERO dollars thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation until Dec 17th. We are open TODAY from 12-2pm!!

We're getting a lot of welfare check calls on animals without proper housing due to the cold weather ❄️

Most of these dogs are in great condition and the owner loves them.....they just don't have the finances for a proper dog house.

We could use some donations of dog houses to help these folks. Can be new or used. Drop them off at our front door (410 N. Dugas Rd) or call us and we will pick them up 👍😀 Please help us spread the word

We're so excited to announce that we are participating in BISSELL Pet Foundation's event starting TOMORROW Dec. 2 through Dec. 17th.

All adoption fees are sponsored by Cathy Bissell and BISSELL Pet Foundation. That's ZERO dollars for a fully vetted pet.

Just a reminder that TOMORROW is your last chance to adopt or foster before the Thanksgiving holiday. 🦃

Melody Ann has been here for 2 months, still waiting on a home. She's the SWEETEST girl. Belly rubs are her favorite thing in the world. She walks so good on a leash, very calm and collected. ❤

When we say we're full- it means every single kennel is occupied, some kennels with multiple dogs in them (yellow and red).

There's no crying wolf here at LASCC, and you don't hear this often from us....but we're PLEADING for homes 🏠 for our 4 longest residents:

Snooki- 82 days
Chaka Khan- 64 days
Melody Ann- 62 days
M. Myers- 57 days

All of these dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. They've even learned a few things from us since they've been here for so long. Adopt them for ZERO dollars and help us save lives ❤

This week was Animal Control Appreciation Week. We may be biased, but Lafayette has some pretty cool people that work at the animal shelter! Does anyone know of a "zoomie" competition? We want to enter Masa! 🏆 Masa is a 2y spayed female. She was surrendered because her owners could no longer afford to care for her. Fosters save lives! Can you help this foster save Oliver? Oliver is a 2 year old terrier mix, weighing only 39lb. He has been in our shelter since October 😭 but an awesome foster named Krystyne decided to take him over thanksgiving break to help him decompress. ❤ Here's what Krystyne says about Oliver: "He has come out of his shell so much since bringing him home. He does well in a crate and has never had an accident in it. He LOVES other dogs and made best friends with my friends dog, Malibu, and our huge Bloodhound. He doesn't understand fetch but he chases after the other dog 😂. He is really friendly with our 4 year old and they will lay and watch TV together.
