Do you have an old radio or boombox lying around the house you want to get rid of? 🎶 Give it a new life and donate it to our pets in need! We've been using radios with a CD player and calming tunes to keep our animals happy and relaxed while they wait for their new homes. Music also provides a great auditory enrichment item for them! We will take any working radio with a DVD player. So if you have one you are looking to part with, we will put it to good use!

Donations can be placed in the bin near our front door or brought in anytime we are open! 🐾

She's done it again! 🤩 Stephanie McKinley-Real Estate stopped by to sponsor two of our pups in need! While visiting, she sponsored Baewulf, a recent surrender with nothing but s***k and love to give! She also stepped up to sponsor Maya. Maya has been struggling to get attention due to her initial shyness, but warmed up with Stephanie right away! Both of these adoptable dogs had a great time playing with Stephanie, getting some mid-day wiggles out, and learning visitors are fun! These two are available for adoption - and thanks to Steph - their adoption fee is WAIVED! Thank you, Stephanie, for always coming through to help our pets in need! Baewulf 🐺 –
This charming, 5-year-old gentleman is looking for a new home! Baewulf is a 117lb mastiff mix who was surrendered due to no fault of his own. His previous mom loved him to pieces and we promised to find a home just as obsessed with the big boy as she was. From his previous mom and during his time here, Baewulf has shown his silly personality! He is a true sweetheart with a loving nature. He is eager to make friends with everything and everyone and is a generally happy-go-lucky guy! He has lived peacefully with dogs, cats, and children. We think he’d enjoying sharing a home with furry or human siblings!
Baewulf enjoys casual walks, plenty of relaxing time, and attention. He is potty trained and previously well behaved in a home. If you’re looking for a sweet companion with a big heart, Baewulf would love to join your family!

Maya 🐶 –
Maya is a sweet girl looking for her forever home! Maya is a 40 lbs, 3 year old, Shiba Mix! She was recently returned due to no fault of her own. Her previous owner reports no issues in the home! She loves attention, pets, and has shown her love of snow recently; zooming around in the yards! She is respectful on a leash and is an easy walker. Maya does well with dogs, cats, and is potty trained! She is initially aloof, but warms up quickly. She was ready for her photo shoot and attention from Steph in no time! Maya would love a home with other furry companions, or can be your only furry child. She’d prefer older children that will allow her time and space to warm up! This loyal girl is ready to head home with you today!

Got an ex who deserves some extra attention? 🐾💩 We're hosting a fundraiser with a purrfect twist: donate $5 through our venmo or donor box, and we'll write your ex's name (or anyone else who did you dirty) on a cat's litter box. The cats will take care of the rest! All proceeds go to supporting our furry friends. Let's turn some dirty memories into a clean slate for the animals! ADOPTED Chihuahuas! 😍

Meet Lia and London! These two sweethearts came to us very recently and it's safe to say that we are obsessed! They are just the cutest, sweetest little chihuahuas ever. These two girls are like two peas in a pod, so we require they go home together. 🐾
Since arriving, they haven't spent much time in their kennels because they make the perfect little office buddies! At just around two years, they have proven to be potty trained and not too bothered by other dogs or cats. We also think they would do well with kids because they are sweet and tolerant! 🥰
Both are spayed, up-to-date on shots, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $200!

Meet Olena, Owen, and Olive! 🐾

These three babies are looking for their warm and cozy fur-ever home this chilly season. These guys have done some settling in at AHHS and we've been getting to know their personalities! Each pup is unique in their own little way! 😍

As cute as these 'Bluey' dogs are, we would like to remind potential adopters that these pups are a lot of work, as are all puppies! Blue Heelers are active, driven dogs and these puppies are no exception to that trait! Their ideal home would be an active one with plenty of playtime and exercise! They would enjoy other dogs in the home, though it is not a requirement. 🐕

Stop in anytime we are open to meet these pups! They are ready to start the new year with you! 🐾💕

Meet Buddy and Lucy! 😍🐾

Buddy and Lucy came to us recently as surrenders and it's safe to say that the staff have fallen in love! I mean, how can you not love these kids. They have settled right in with no problems and are now patiently waiting for their forever home to live out their golden years! Both seniors have slowed down in their zoomies, but they still love sniffing around the yard and rolling in the grass! 🥰

They previously have lived with kids, cats, and other dogs so they are fit for just about any home as long as there is a comfy couch and some nice snacks! 😋

Lucy does have hypothyroidism, which requires lifelong medication. However, caring for her is easier than you might think! Our medical team will gladly explain to you Lucy's needs! 💕

Both are fixed, up-to-date on shots, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, and microchipped. Their adoption fees are $100 each, but if you fall in love with both of them, their combined fee is only $150! 🐕🐾

Maya enjoyed playing in the snow today and loved her outside time. She passed her cat test, walks well on leash, does well with dogs, and is potty trained! All she needs is someone to swoop her off her feet and take her home. Maya is 3 years young, 40 lbs, and sweet as can be! Once she warms up, she is a loyal and bonded girl. Meet Kaylee, our longest resident here at AHHS.❤🐾

Kaylee came to us as a stray in the beginning of June in 2023. We didn't know anything about her when she came in, but after around 580 days in our care we have come to know and love her!🥰

She takes some time to warm up to people initially, but her personality shines once she's comfortable.✨ She loves to spend time outside and to play, but also enjoys a good nap! She is more of an independent girl, but we think she has a lot of love to offer to the right home.

Kaylee has been working on her socialization around other dogs and has made some progress. However, as of right now, we would want her to be the only pet in the home. We also believe she would do best in a home with teens and up due to her initial shyness.

Kaylee is spayed, up-to-date on shots and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a kind individual. 😊

🥰 Meet Charlie! 🐱

Charlie is one of the first surrenders taken in by AHHS this year! She is an absolute sweetheart! Coming to us by no fault of her own, Charlie took no time to warm right up to staff and make herself comfortable! She's quite the talker. This girl is always demanding cuddles and more attention! Her favorite toy is a good ol' laser pointer. She goes absolutely bonkers for it! We are recommending a home with no other cats due to her experience in her previous home, but Charlie does get along with kids and dogs!

Charlie comes up-to-date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV tested, on preventatives, and with a complementary vet exam!

AHHS has serviced around 1,500 animals and we've adopted out around 1,006 animals so far! And we've still got three days left in the year! 🥰
We would like to celebrate some of the adoptions we've had this year! We've seen both short term stays and some of our longest residents finally find their forever homes! 🐱

Meet Maya! 🐕💕

This pretty girl takes a moment to warm up to people, but once she does, she sticks by her people! As adorable as she is, she's just as sweet! Maya is a Shiba Inu mix. This breed is both loyal and intelligent, which Maya displays perfectly! While she is loving once she gets to know you, we recommend a home with older children and teenagers since she is a bit shy at first. She doesn't seem to mind other dogs, but we require meet and greets with all other dogs in the home to ensure everyone is happy with a new friend! She's currently looking for her forever home, so if you want to meet Miss Maya, come visit her today!

🐾🥳 Puppies for Adoption - Thursday! 🥳

Puppy Pup-Date! Our, about 2.5 month old, German Shepherd/Border Collie mix puppies are looking for their forever homes! There are 5 females (one will be joining an AHHS family forever) and 4 boys! They have spent the past week settling in, getting up to date with our medical team and partnered veterinarians, and letting our staff learn about their personalities and future needs for success! Don't let their shy faces fool you; these cute little pups are already showing true to their breed’s genetic traits; active, smart, and with the drive to work!

Please note, to help ensure successful placement for these spitfires, they will not be adopted to apartments, condos, or townhomes. These puppies will grow into active, energetic adults who need plenty of space to run and play. While they are adorable right now, they will need owners who are prepared to manage their energy, drive, and activity levels as they grow.

We have introduced these puppies to children, cats, and small and large dogs. 🐾They have done well, while each has their own unique personality! One of the females is a true spitfire, pink collar, and would excel with structure and a true job! These puppies would likely do well around livestock given proper introduction.

Understand, puppies are a lifetime commitment and our priority is to match your best friend for the next 10-20 years. 💕
