🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car, even for a minute

This Saturday! Doo-Dah-Day Adoption Event! 🐕

Come see us this Saturday from 11am -2pm at 📍 Wea Creek Orchard for their Doo Dah Day Adoption Event. There will be vendors, face painting, and animals ready to head home! We will be doing same day adoptions - with an approved application!

We have dogs and cats of all ages and sizes that are eager to find their humans! 🐾 Don't miss it!

Cattle dog mix puppy - Hiccup is looking for her new humans! 🐕🐾

Hiccup is only 6 months old and weighs a petite 12lbs. She originally came in with her sister Hydra, who has already found her new home. This girl is a petite one and perfect for traveling and adventures! ❤

Hiccup loves wrestling with dogs and might do well with cats. She can be initially shy, but warms up quickly. Her ideal new home would include human or dog friends, well-mannered children while she gains some confidence, and plenty of exploration! At 6 months old, she has plenty of world left to explore and would love a human or dog partner to show her the ropes. 🥰

She is up to date on vaccines and preventatives, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and goes home with a complimentary vet exam. Stop by to meet her anytime we are open!

ADOPTED 🐾

Rambeau is looking for his new home! ❤

At 5 years old, this 8 lb Shih Tzu mix is ready to meet new faces and settle into a family once again. Rambeau came to AHHS as a surrender when his owner's health began to decline, making his care difficult.

He has lived with children ✅, dogs ✅, and cats ✅!

His previous owner says he loves car rides and loves to be with his person. Walks have become one of his favorite things, though being carried is still his favorite. Rambeau has been a gem at the shelter and enjoys being carried around and doted on. He had a recent dental, and will need his new family to ensure his mouth stays healthy.

He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will head home with a complimentary groom coupon and vet visit. Don't miss out on this sweet boy. 🐾 You can meet him anytime we are open!

* A huge thank you to Heather over at Smoochie Pooch! He looks amazing and feels so much more comfortable! He's also ready for some 4th of July festivities in his new home!

🐾What a paws-itively amazing time we had at the Pint for Paws event at Brokerage Brewery!🍻🐶

These adoptable pups had a blast meeting new friends, soaking up the love, and showing off their wonderful personalities! Huge thank you to Brokerage Brewery for hosting such a fantastic event and helping us spread the word about these sweet pups looking for their forever homes. 🏡.

If you missed these adorable dogs, don't worry! 2 of our pups were adopted on site, but the rest of them are still waiting patiently for their perfect families! Come meet them and see just how much love they have to give!❤

Have you heard the news? We are super excited to announce we have partnered with American Legion Post 11 SAL and Friends of downtown. On June 28th we are hosting a day long celebration packed with live music, local vendors , and mouth-watering food trucks all in support of Almost Home Humane Society and American Legion Post 11. Whether you're coming for the music, the food, the community or just to support the causes come and enjoy the fun and friendship of helping veterans who serve to keep America safe and support for Sheltering homeless pets. Come and be a part of a great day!

The event runs from 2 to 10:00 p.m. in the American Legion Post 11 parking lot 1801 South 9th Street.

BRING LAWN CHAIRS

We have 7 bands lined up, and will also be having vendors. If you are interested in becoming a vendor for the event please email [email protected]. The fee to set up is $20. If you're just coming to enjoy the day it is a $10 donation entrance fee.

❤Meet Peanut!❤

At 11 years old, this 10 pound senior girl was surrendered to us due to her owner's declining health. She now finds herself waiting patiently for her forever home to live out her golden years! She can be a little slow to trust as her world has recently changed drastically, but once she does, she will be your little shadow.

Peanut has recently had a thorough dental with us, and she's been thriving since! As a small breed senior, she'll need some upkeep to maintain her dental health. Other than that, she is pretty spry for 11 years old! She doesn't seem to enjoy the company of other dogs and is looking for a calm, peaceful place to settle down in. We're unsure how she does with cats, but hasn't minded walking past them in kennels!🏡

Her ideal home would let her roll around in the grass, spend plenty of time together, and provide her a fluffy, circle bed - which have quickly become her favorite.

If you're looking for a loyal companion to shower with love, Peanut just might be the one. Drop by and give this scraggly girl a chance to steal your heart!💕🐾

🎉BIG ADOPTION NEWS!🎉

The past few weeks have brought some incredible adoption wins, and we're over the moon to share a few of the highlights!🐾💛

🐶Bennie, who originally came to us as a puppy and after two temporary placements, waited 1,045 days to find his perfect match, finally went home!
🐕Milan found his amazing forever family after 680 days of patiently waiting!
⚾️Babe Ruth hit it out of the ball park and was adopted after 503 days with us!

These long-stay sweethearts (and more) never gave up - and neither did we. A huge thank you to the wonderful adopters who have opened their hearts and homes!❤

While we're celebrating these happy tails, we still have many more amazing pets still waiting for their turn. Stop by, meet your match, and be a part of the next great adoption story!🥰
