Meet the three newest additions to LHAS!

These three sweet puppies came to us extremely scared of people and the world, but they’re already making incredible progress! They’re starting to come out of their shells, eager to play, and beginning to seek affection.

While they continue to settle in, we need your help! We’re looking for name suggestions for these cuties. Two females and one male, estimated to be around 8 weeks old. We think they might be Pyrenees mixes. 🐶

Meet Piper, a 2-year-old calico mom who is super sweet, loving, and friendly, though she’s a bit scared of dogs. She’s been a wonderful mom to her two adorable 3-month-old kittens. Candace, a playful black female, and Perry, a sweet tabby boy, are both super affectionate and full of personality! All three of these kitties are looking for their forever homes!

Boba is roughly a year old, energetic, affectionate girl and eager to please. She is spayed and current on vaccines and heartworm prevention. She does well with other dogs of similar size or larger. She's played with other dogs in a playgroup and daycare setting and with other dogs while in foster.

It's unknown how Boba is with children, but given her high energy, she would do best with older children and in a home without cats.

Boba deserves a family that will help her live her best life.

Joplin is a 2-year-old Great Dane who is looking for a new home due to not getting along with the dog in her current household. She does great with cats and kids and is friendly once she gets to know you—she may be hesitant with strangers at first but warms up quickly, especially with treats.

Joplin has had a gastropexy, is spayed, and is up-to-date on all vaccines. She would do best in a home without other dogs but is sure to make a loving and loyal companion for the right family.

Zeus (black and white) and Cornbread had so much fun together this weekend! Zeus is currently available for adoption and Cornbread will be available once she is spayed. Zeus gets along great with other dogs and would love to have a canine companion in his forever home!

Look how happy Porky is playing in the snow! ❄️ This curly-tailed boy is still looking for a home. Porky is about 5-years-old, enjoys playtime, and is happiest when he has people around to keep him company. 💙 He is also good with older kids, house trained, and crate trained. Plus, his adoption fee has been SPONSORED! Porky seems indifferent to other dogs and cats, so he may be able to get along with them as long as they aren't in his face. He has already been neutered and microchipped and is up-to-date on vaccines. Will you be the person to give Porky the home he has been waiting for? **ADOPTED** Here is a short video of adoptable Stella experiencing snow for the first time! 😂 We think she likes it! Stella is a 7-month-old girl who is kid-friendly, partially house trained, loves to be on the go, and wants to play any chance she can get! We think she would enjoy having a dog buddy in her new home, although we aren't sure how she is with cats. Stella would benefit from an owner who has the time and patience to continue her socialization and help her become the best girl she can be. Who We Are

For over ten years, Loving Heart Animal Shelter has been saving the lives of dogs and cats in the city of Lafayette, Indiana. LHAS is a no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization that has provided a wide variety of pets with a temporary place to call home until they are adopted into “forever” homes. Thanks to the endless efforts of our staff, foster parents, and volunteers, over 6,000 pets have found love and comfort with adoptive families since our founding.

In 2009, Loving Heart was founded by Sandy Fogarasi and her animal-loving friends. Although some faces have changed throughout the years and LHAS has obtained a building, the heart of our mission - to rescue and find homes for unwanted and forgotten dogs and cats - has remained the same.

Adopt an animal. Open your home to foster animals. Volunteer at the shelter. Make a monetary or item donation. Anything and everything counts and directly impacts the lives of the dogs and cats in our care.
