🎃 Did you know that pumpkin can be a healthy addition to your pet’s diet? At Town and Country Vet Clinic, we love sharing the benefits of this seasonal superfood!

Pumpkin is packed with fiber, which can help regulate digestion, soothe upset tummies, and even aid in weight management. It’s also full of vitamins like A, C, and E, keeping your pet’s immune system strong and skin healthy! 🍂

For a healthy serving, try these amounts:

Extra-small (2-20 lbs): 2-3 teaspoons
Small (21-30 lbs): 1-2 tablespoons
Medium (31-50 lbs): 2-3 tablespoons
Large (51-90 lbs): 4-5 tablespoons Extra-large dogs (91+ lbs): ¼ cup

Just remember—plain, canned pumpkin is best (no spices or sugar). Ask us if adding pumpkin is right for your pet! 🐾

This is a question we hear occasionally, and we thought we'd break it down! If your cat suddenly stops using their litterbox, it can be both confusing and frustrating. Here are a few common reasons why this might be happening:

Health Issues: Medical problems like urinary tract infections or arthritis can make it painful for your cat to use the box.

Litterbox Cleanliness: Cats are very particular about cleanliness. Make sure the litterbox is scooped daily and cleaned regularly.

Litter Preferences: Your cat might not like the type of litter you’re using. Experiment with different types to find what they prefer.

Box Location: Ensure the litterbox is in a quiet, accessible location. Cats don’t like using a box that’s in a high-traffic area.

Dr. Pete pursued his love for animals in 2003 and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Dr. Pete began practicing veterinary medicine in 2008 at Town and Country Veterinary Clinic. The practice outgrew the original location, and a new clinic was constructed in 2016. Dr. Pete, leads his team and serves his patients and their owners with compassion. At Town and Country the aim is complete pet care through State of the Art care and education for the best life possible of the pet.
