Beaux and Brody completed their in-home private training lessons with Vikki. Beaux the rescue dog was very fearful and stressed prior to training. He has gained so much confidence with training. Brody worked on potty training and sitting for attention.

🐶Are you interested in having your dog become a therapy dog? How about working on your AKC CGC Title? This class will help teach you the tools to achieve these. This 6 week class covers all 10 steps of the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Class meets the same day and time each week for 6 weeks. We will work on exercises such as accepting a friendly stranger, supervised separation, walking through a crowd, and MUCH more! AKC Canine Good Citizen testing will take place during the final class. The cost is $200/dog.
✅ Classes take place at our training center located at 131 James Comeaux Rd, Lafayette La 70508.
✅ Proof of current vaccinations given by a veterinarian, a negative f***l, and flea prevention are needed to attend class. Puppies need 2 rounds of vaccines given by a veterinarian.
✅ All classes are taught with positive reinforcement based methods, we do not use any choke, prong, or shock collars.

🤩Our Intro to Agility Workshop is a great way to have fun with your pet! This workshop is for dog’s and puppies age 6 months and older. This is a 1 hour workshop This class will introduce your dog to agility obstacles such as - the A-frame, weaves, tunnel, jumps, and dog walk! The cost is $45/dog.

Denver, the 8 month old Goldendoodle, is currently enrolled in private training lessons with Vikki. He's in training to learn how to walk politely on a leash and stop jumping on guests. We are also going to work on his obedience skills in public environments. He's very smart and enjoys working hard for treats. We're excited to follow his progress!

Finn, the 7 year old Goldendoodle, is currently enrolled in private training lessons with Vikki for behavior modification. We recently trained his canine sibling, Sutton. He's in training to address his separation anxiety and anxiety in the car. We are using systematic desensitization and counter-conditioning to change his emotional response to triggers. We are excited to work with him and help reduce his daily stress.

🤩We had so much fun at our AKC Canine Good Citizen workshop this past weekend! Rosie, Armani, and Grayson worked hard practicing the 10 skills needed to pass the CGC test. We practiced techniques to use to reduce jumping, walk politely on a leash, and to remain calm for supervised separation. They all did fantastic and we are so proud of their hard work.

Sit Happens Dog Training is locally owned and operated in Lafayette, Louisiana. We specialize in pet dog training and behavior modification. We provide services for all of Acadiana. Services include: Group Classes, Workshops, In-Home Private Training, In-Facility Private Training, Behavior Modification, and Board & Train.

We use positive reinforcement training methods that are approved by veterinarians and the top leaders in the dog training industry. We tailor our training plans to meet the needs of each individual pet.

Vikki Bourgeois is the owner and head trainer of Sit Happens Dog Training. She has over 10 years experience in the pet care industry where she developed a special interest in trick training and behavior modification.

Vikki holds the prestigious title of Certified Behavior Consultant Canine (CBCC-KA), a title only 161 people hold worldwide. She is one of two CBCC-KA’s in the entire state of Louisiana and the only one in Acadiana. She is also a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, a Certified Trick Dog Instructor through the “Do More With Your Dog” program, and Fear Free Certified Professional. She is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and Puppy S.T.A.R. Evaluator.
