Here is the perfect example of how to handle a bird bite. Often it's just a momentary protest. If you back off, they win and will use that tactic in the future. If possible, simply ignore and follow through with what you were asking of him. They are smart and learn quick. Never scold, or punish as they will quickly loose trust in you. Always exhibit confidence and be persistent. Yes, it might hurt a bit but I never knew of any one dying so try your best to ignore it.

A very special thank you to our good friends, Bonnie and Chuck Boyer for gifting us this wonderful cage for our Gray babies and to Ira Liles for making the trip to Jackson to pick it up. We are blessed with amazing friends.
The birds will stay inside with us for the winter and out in the aviary come spring. These babies hatched earlier this year and will be future breeders here on the Ridge.
