Having the freedom to climb out of the cages and see the world from a new viewpoint is enjoyed by all. Not all at once but in rotation. However the parrots benefit from watching their neighbors at play as much as when it’s their turn. I’m going to be busy with rotations since the next two weeks are expected to be dark and rainy. Songs and cartoons are on the agenda.

BB King is a new guest at Parrot Nanny. He’s pretty fantastic and a very good talker. Birds sure know how to communicate. The overhead Atom is too big for him to grasp because some of his toes are not functional. But he has a lot of stories to tell about his 25 years. Every bird has a book to write!

I'm ready to find a special home for Chauncey. (Due to my age.) He is a very talkative and personable slender billed cockatoo. (Hatch 2002) He will have a long conversation with you and 'dance' to any music or song... just ask my clients who visit! He's the smartest bird in my house. However, his beak requires regular attention to maintain it. I hope to find a person who can devote the time and attention to this magnificent boy. His noise level is not a factor as he just has a cackle when excited...not a loud call. He loves to disappear into his hanging soft 'cozies' and he eats a variety of things including my bird muffins. I am interested in hearing from those that feel they can offer him the perfect permanent long term home. No breeders or 'collectors'. Please email me or message me if you are interested and have the heart and means to adopt him. Thank you.

Drip drying the three girls. They’re like decorations! So beautiful! Loud but pretty.

How’s this for a fun enrichment? Jonathan loves digging into a small piece of a paper straw that has a couple of safflower seeds inside. These were provided by his mom and I plan to try this for my conures. I’m always learning.

Today Joshua checked out Crawford’s cage. Fortunately Crawford was in the other room. Josh enjoyed being mischievous.

Crawford teaches me how to appreciate the moments in life. Basking in the sunshine. Listening to the birds. Having furry and feathered companions. Life simplified to its most basic form of enjoyment.

Winter weather warm breakfast mixture consisting of crumbled bird muffins with grains and added scrambled eggs and corn and diced apples. Looks like a hit!

Maji is a good example of a bird having fun. He knows how to party.
