Crunchy Carrrot
Carrots are engineered for bird cages perfectly. No matter what the bar spacing is….they can be securely wedged in. Maji is crunching happily until he notices the camera. 😉
Carrot Stick? It’s soon chiseled down into shavings. Macadamia nut? Usually not a problem but this one got away. Brazil nut is much more successful. It’s the lower beak that’s the sharpest. Very powerful but for good reason. And it’s not all the better to bite you with. It’s more a tool than a weapon.
Here is my son Paul taking Big Bird up to get a shower. On the way he “flies” her and they both enjoy that. I confess that I have a lot of bird toys and perches. I like to furnish busy cages for all. Can’t have too many toys!
Parrot Nanny believes in plenty of play opportunities. Toohey hardly knows what to do next!
Very wet macaws drip drying and watching Sesame Street. Good kids!
Waiting impatiently for Oven Fresh Baked Bites to return to available status. In the meantime…my birdie muffins are satisfying picky parrots. Cisco nibbles and dissected a muffin and I’m sure some of it is ingested!
Joshua and Hooka
Free time above the fray.
Kevin cannot hide his delight when breakfast is served. He seems to purr when he relishes his first bites.
Caiques are the best little clowns. Personality plus.
Drip drying the three girls. They’re like decorations! So beautiful! Loud but pretty.
How’s this for a fun enrichment? Jonathan loves digging into a small piece of a paper straw that has a couple of safflower seeds inside. These were provided by his mom and I plan to try this for my conures. I’m always learning.
Today Joshua checked out Crawford’s cage. Fortunately Crawford was in the other room. Josh enjoyed being mischievous.
