I will always have things.
I am not a fan of minimalism- I like weird art and fun toys and colorful things.
Things are put in my house in a way that makes sense to me.
For instance -my makeup is in a kitchen cabinet currently. We have an open floor plan and I would do my makeup in the kitchen so I could keep an eye on the kids while I did. So it made sense to keep it there.
It’s “organized chaos”.
My friend asked me where something was and I replied something to the effect of “oh in junk drawer number two, under the pineapple slicer, to the left of the ring doorbell”.
She replied in all seriousness “you are so organized” and I laughed but then realized she was right. I know where everything is in my house- because it’s what makes sense for us.
My deodorant is on the kitchen window sill so I won’t forget it. My bandaids are above my washer and dryer because it’s high enough the kids can’t use them freely as stickers and low enough so I can reach them. My makeup in the kitchen. The back scratcher is in the back corner of the kitchen.
(Can you tell the kitchen is a central hub?)
Don’t ask me to find anything in my pantry closet though- that’s a free for all - filled to the brim with chaos.
Your house does not have to make sense to anyone but you. Home decor is a hobby, and minimalism is a design choice.
Whatever works best for you is right. ❤️❤️❤️
