Im sorry I misplaced your information....but to the people who were looking for rats, please inbox me. These seem to have behavior issues, but not sure if because they are with inexperienced owners, habitat issues or other environmental factors that are causing issue. I will find that out momentarily.

Also, this little issue has popped up :) This little guy needs a sponsor for neuter ($125) so he can find a forever home asap!
Thank you.

It's been a moment since I've posted a PSA about finding a family pet. A recent call brought to mind that many people think it's best to get a baby bun to "grow up" with their family. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a gamble in more cases then not.
Baby rabbits by nature freeze when frightened. this is a defense mechanism...mostcpeople have heard of "Fright or Flight". Typically small rabbit knowvthey cannot outrun predators so they freeze. This is why when being handled people believe babies to enjoy being pet and cuddled.... .which is not always the case.
When looking for a pet for your family, it is important to choose a pet that has a certain level of tolerance to the entire families energy. Excitement to a rabbit means death.... as with most small animals.
"Getting the wiggles out" and listening to calming music before playing with your small pet can be helpful in the bonding process. Trust needs to be established early on and continued through for a good match between pet and pet parents.
Questions? I'm here to help! Feel free to message me at [email protected] and I can call you to go over some behavioral senerios with you to insure a beautiful relationship can begin!

You guys are awesome!!!! Evan is so happy to see your kind welcomes and positive responses to his posts!!!! Thank you for being the very best supporters ever.
The love of one of our favorite people gave us the opportunity to spend time with our son Chris, who is back only for a few days from military training.
It's hard to know he has to leave again so soon, but we are trying to make memories while he is here.
Jane, thank you for your generosity. To our anonymous donor, thank you for the donation for December that we were not expecting...it allowed us to stick the house with food since we didn't need to worry about the electric bill this month. (I hope you see this photo!!)
Thank you to all our monthly donors who help us keep going! We need at least 300 more monthly donors to be able to continue our mission....I do not want a salary, but I can't ring the rescue and work 3 jobs .....its just not working.
Thank you Evan and the kids from Arlington who help us weekly and for our Reilly and Caroline who come Saturdays :)
You are amazing, each and every one of you!!

Meet Old Man Earl! Old Man Earl was born on November 2nd, 2023, in an accidental litter. He was one of the five babies. This little guy is shy but has a lot of love to give! He also uses his litter box well. He was previously adopted but came back after a failed bonding attempt. Old Man Earl is ready for a caring home. Email us at [email protected] if you would like more information on this handsome little guy. -Evan

Good afternoon friends! In an effort to help our social media presence, one of our Jr. Volunteers from SNTAC (Students against animal cruelty) will be posting for us. Please be kind as Evan is just starting to get to know the animals here :)
We are grateful for this opportunity as with working so much, social media posting has been difficult.
Also, a quick little update that the neglected sugar glider that came to us emaciated and needing to be hand fed for a month has found her forever home!

Merry Christmas!!!

Life is a gift, but not one to be given on a whim.....

If you are considering adding a pet to your family, please consider care needs, average vet costs, food/bedding costs, expected lifespan of pet and where you see your life in that time frame.

Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for the "real" picture and not the painting of a perfect scene. Life offers trials and triumphs. Look at the entire picture before committing.

Something to think about this holiday season......
Allergies care a thing! please don't bring a prt into your home until you have been checked for sensitivity or allergies to your prospective pet AND their complete diet (mostly hay but peanuts are in some forms of rodent food).

Nothing says MERRY Christmas/Happy Holidays, like giving a pet only to take it away 3 weeks from now!

ADOPT DONT SHOP...most rescues will plan a visit to insure the pet and prospective family make a good match.. .
If you insist on a surprise, we can accomodate! We are happy to have the prospective family "volunteer" to socialize the animals. after you leave a call will be arranged to discuss who the family loved and what I saw in behaviors of animals and family...then you can choose your pet. For the gift, food and such can be given and thev26th we can have you come get your newest family member :)
We love to be a part of Happy Endings!!

IT'S GIVING TUESDAY!
*UPDATE*
Thank you Erika for being the first new monthly donor!!!
Thank you Daniella for being our second sign on for monthly donation !!!
Thank you Stephanie!!! You are the 3rd person to sign up for our monthly donor program!!!
Thank you Andrea!!!! You have joined our monthly donor program to help care for the small animals herecat MHIY!!!

Today i am working at Audio By Adam as I do every Tuesday thru Thursday and my pay is directly donated to My Hope's In You.
Everyday I care for the animals here out of pure love for the animals and our community without a penny going into my pocket or the pockets of any of our volunteers. We run on love, but love does not pay the bills! (for sure if it did I would not have to make posts like this but rather post giving funding away because the love here is so great!)

Would you consider either a 1 time donation toward the spaying/neutering of a small animal, or perhaps you can find it to donate just $5 a month to help us with food, bedding, rent, heat and electricity ?

We need you! It is obvious that we cannot do this alone. I work everyday and can't keep up with our social media, applications, education events or fundraising planning....

Please consider MHIY this GIVING TUESDAY!

Thank you for your support! links below for monthly donors program and wish lists

When the girls come back from college to visit the rescue.............. they may never leave again!!!!
I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the lives of our volunteers. I truly enjoy the random texts and life updates I get from kids who volunteered years ago!
My Hope's In You is more than a rescue, it's a family of people who have a goal to make the world a better, kinder place ❤️

So excited to announce the elderly hamster found in a window well (yes, outside in below freezing temps) has been adopted!!
This sweet angel experienced some form of abuse as his spine is bent- caused by using a wheel that was too small or by living in a ball (yes, i have seen this more than I care to talk about)
These happy endings keep me going. I know I haven't been posting, but do not take my lack of posts as a sign that the rescue is not functioning. The lack of posting is due to an absolutely crazy schedule as I try my best to balance 3 jobs, caring for the animals and my elderly parents.
Yes, the rescue is in need of donations still, and we are still trying to reach our goal of 600 monthly donors of just $5 each. We have rent, electric. oil and food, hay, bedding as well as vet bills.

If the rescue can support itself, I can quit 2 jobs and go back to doing the education events and nursing home visits and posting daily on social media....but if the donations don't come, I have an obligation to care for these animals and I have to make sure they are well cared for.
Please remember, we have NO PAYROLL! Not even myself or our board gets paid to do this...100% of received donations go towards the animals and not lining the pockets of CEOS:)
My Hope's In You is like no other rescue, our volunteers have passion that surpasses rationality. I am blessed to be a part of this community and to give these animals a second chance at finding loving homes.
During this time of Thanksgiving, I just want to say THANK YOU for being the best part of MHIY!

THIS is the ultimate follow up!!! The goal of every rescued life!!
You can actually feel Muna's happiness!!! (f/k/a Hopper)
Neglected by her owners , a kind sole took her and another in until they could find a rescue to place them.
YOU make these happy ending as possible!

Special shout out to our $5 a month supporters (and those who choose to do more). You guys are making it possible for us to continue our rescue mission.
Thank you!!!!

Thank you all so much for getting us over our goal! We have 7 more Guinea pigs that need to be spayed/neutered as well as several medical needs including tooth extraction, blood tests and xrays for several conditions. We have had a few spay/neuter runs last month which covered 18 animals. I know I have not been posting as often, but i am working two jobs now to cover these costs.
Thank you all for making this a little easier to maintain wdonafundraisers like this, supporting our clips for Snips, and by signing up for our monthly donations ($5 a month)
