The shelter serves the residents of Laguna Beach and Laguna Woods by providing temporary care of sick, injured, and strayed or abandoned animals rescued by the animal services officers in the City of Laguna Beach and the City of Laguna Woods.

Charlie had a rough start at the shelter, dealing with several health issues. But nothing could take away from his cuteness. While recovering, Charlie found his match! And now that he is medically cleared, he can finally go to his .

Many of you will remember our boy Sparky, who was a shelter resident for a couple of years. His humans send us regular updates on his adventures, and we thought we would share them with you! Sparky is living his best life, getting tons of attention from his humans, attending training classes, hanging out with his 4-legged siblings, and chasing squirrels (he has not caught one yet!). He is so loved, and we are simply thrilled that he found his perfect .

Ariel had to wait a long time for her perfect match, and we are glad she finally found het humans. Our 3-legged sweet beauty won many hearts at the shelter, but it is time for her to say goodbye to us. We wish Ariel all the best and hope that her humans will bring her for visits. ❤️

Millie of the soft brown eyes found her match! Her now human adopted another poodle (Arthur/Lucky) from the shelter a few years ago. Lucky crossed the rainbow bridge recently, and we hope that Millie will fill the void that he left. Good luck to these two lucky ladies who found each other!

Weston arrived at the shelter as an energetic and cute as a button puppy. We knew that he would find his quickly once he was cleared to be adopted. He left the shelter with great fanfare, with shelter employee Kathleen Sherwood, Chief of Police of Laguna Beach Jeff Calvert and Captain David Dereszynski in attendance.

Our sweet Nellie found her match! When Nellie first arrived at the shelter, she was very shy and not very trusting of humans. With time and care, she came out of her shell, and her sweet and friendly personality became visible for all to see. We wish Nellie the best and all the cuddles she could wish for! ❤️

It is with great sadness that we share that Woody has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Woody was a quirky and sweet little dog, full of character and love. He lived in the shelter for some time, and then he found his #fureverhome with Taylor, an employee at the shelter. His last chapter with her was the best thing that happened to Woody, who only had eyes for Taylor. RIP, Woody, we miss you greatly!

Toby is living his best life 🥰 He’s getting lots of love and cuddles, his new fursister Zoe showed him around his new neighborhood, and he and Zoe are going on little adventures together. Toby even got a little makeover…he’s all cleaned up and handsome as ever 😍

**UPDATE** FOUND! Now safe at home! ❤️ ----------------- Junior is still missing; the whole #SouthLaguna neighborhood has been wonderful, keeping an eye out for him. Unfortunately, no calls on a sighting since 4/3. Junior is about 2 ½ yrs old. He is a #marbletabby with bobtail. He has beautiful hazel eyes and a clipped ear. He weighs about 12lbs. He has all his shots and is microchipped. This is what Junior’s foster mom hopes: That he has found a loving home around here and that someone is caring for him. She would just like to know that he has settled in and loved. She will change his microchip to whomever may want him if this is the case. If not please keep your eyes open for him, and try to get him in your house. Last sighting was 4/3 on 3rd and Jewel. #lostpet #lostcat #lagunabeach

Though the #LagunaBeach #AnimalShelter works hard to ensure each match is the right one, every now and then, once everyone is home together, it becomes apparent that it’s not. 🙁 But we’re 100% dedicated to our animals, and we know that we will find Sophie’s love match! She has puppy energy, but she also learns quickly, knows the sit command, tells you when she needs to go potty, sleeps all night in her crate, rides well, and loves to explore outdoors. 🥰 If she sounds as perfect for you as she does to us, visit her at the shelter to see if you have a love connection. ❤️
