We are a bit behind on posting, so there is a lot to be happy about. 🥳 This is amazing as adoptions for all rescues and shelters have been down for over TWO YEARS! Elvy was adopted by her foster David. He fell for her over the last 5 months and knew she was already home.

Mr. Jasper-who waited over two years to find a home despite being one of THE BEST dogs we have ever had in the rescue. Jasper, now Bowie loves watching TV with his human sister.
Fancy’s (fna Fallon) mom met her when she was a puppy and couldn’t stop thinking of her. She drove from AZ and picked her up.
Milo’s adopters are an active couple, which is just what he dreamed of! Bring on the adventures!
Noel found a home with the son of one of our amazing foster families. She has already had a trip to the beach!
Pita’s adopter fell in love the first time they met her and were so excited to welcome her home.
Cali came to us with 8 puppies and was the best mom. Her sweetness instantly won over her new family, who were looking for a German Shepherd.

We had some very special volunteers come to @thereddoghouseoc on Sunday to read to the dogs! 👭📚🐶 Not only were they rockstars, but so were the dogs! The pups loved every minute with you listening to you read your books. There were so many tail wags and smiles. Thank you to the girls with Troop 2519 (and Moms!) for volunteering and for the donations you raised for the dogs! We appreciate you voting to spend your time to help bring joy to our adoptable dogs. 🌻

Tyson came to TLRD with his brother Cowboy (who is still looking for a fosterbor adooter!) last year. One of our longtime fosters was able to open her home to him to get him out of boarding. It didn’t take long for them to fall in love with Tyson. It was like he had been there for years. His new family says, Tyson loves his human brother Sam, and it is mutual. I broke Sam's heart many times when the foster dogs were adopted. Tyson has been the best, so I capitulated.” 🥰 #fosterfail
Chiquito came to us in 2022 from the shelter being deemed “rescue only” for charging in the kennels. He was 9 lbs at the time and completely terrified of the shelter environment. Tiny with a huge personality, Chiquito was in boarding until a foster stepped up and thank goodness they did! Another amazing longtime foster @dirtyfirl000 took him in and helped him with his confidence in new situations. He found a love of balls and toys. He lives with other dogs and quickly became part of the pack. He officially became a FOSTER FAIL recently!! ❤️
Lupin (now Bruce) was found as a stray in 2022. He had been between boarding and a foster with little interest until recently when we got an adoption application for him. His new mom just loves him. She is following our recommendations and is doing great! This is what she had to say when we checked in recently, “ I swear he just gets better every day. He's been so so good on our walks and just with training in general. He's super smart and eager to please, which makes it easy. He's calmed down a bit and is finally eating full meals twice a day! He's met a few of my neighbors including a couple kids and he's been very sweet with everybody. We found a nice grass patch on our walk the other day so I gave him a break to roll around and I think he enjoyed himself.”

This handsome lad is Sir Oliver, who is looking for his forever home. He is a Shar pei mix and about 3 years old.🥰 Housebroken, neutered, walks great on leash, not food aggressive, crate trained, very loving, affectionate, good with kids, and good boy. Oliver is good with dogs on and off leash in the backyard. He has already learned a few commands, like sit, stay, and leave it. It’s a good day for a celebration! 🎉 Join us in welcoming come Elera (now Kona), Finley, Rocket Man, Ben, Bob and Hunter.
🌸Kona was one of 8 and part of Mama Cali’s litter. After fostering Kona for a month, her family decided she already had a place in their hearts and home and made her adoption official. She has a long life full of fun and adventure ahead of her! Mama Cali, and her pups Phoenix, Sirrius and Xander are all still looking for a home!
🌴Little Finley came to us with a fractured tibia and fibula. A foster allowed us to rescue him so he could heal in a home. Cases like Finley are why donations are so important. Finley was adopted by a family who adore him, and he gets to grow up with human siblings.
🚀Rocket Man, a special senior had been with his foster over a year. Seniors get the least applications, so when his new mom applied for him we were so excited. They get to enjoy retired life together now doing whatever the day brings them.
🎠Ben’s adopters had brought home Molly (formerly Blueberry) about 6 months ago and decided Molly needed a friend. They came and met a few dogs and Ben had just the right energy and personality to give her the confidence she needed. We love prior adopters!
🎶Bob had been with us almost 2 years. He had been adopted and returned at no fault of his own. He went to a foster home in January with prior adopters who had already adopted 2 dogs from us. They had such patience with Bob and the help of his furry siblings made him feel safe and loved. They decided they couldn’t imagine home without Bob as a part of it.
🌠Hunter waited two years in boarding until a family who recently lost their dog decided they were ready to adopt again. They met Hunter and there were instant sparks. Hunter needed them as much as they needed him and he is now settling into a home full of love.
