IMPORTANT UPDATE TO FARM CALL EMERGENCY COVERAGE
Effective Jan 12, 2024: Mid- Michigan Equine Service will only be able to provide on-farm emergency coverage to clients that have used us for ROUTINE SERVICES in the last 12 months (teeth, shots, wellness exams, herd health, etc). All other established clients will need to haul in for emergency services. We will not be able to provide coverage for non-clients.

We realize this is an inconvenience for many, but staffing changes make it necessary at this time. We recommend you find arrangements now for hauling your livestock in case of an emergency.

*Edit* we have a form that you can use to mail in to the county for your dog license. You will need to include a copy of their Rabies certificate. Please email ([email protected]) or call our office (517)651-1234 if you'd like us to send you that form.

We will no longer have county dog licenses available at the clinic. We are happy to get you the paperwork you need to get your dog's license, just give a call.or send a text to the office. Info on the shiawassee county dog licenses are below

2024 Dog Licenses will go on sale December 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024

We will need proof of Spay or Neuter Certificate (if applicable) & Current Rabies Vaccination from a Certified Veterinarian

Dog License On or After March 1st = Late License & Price Doubles:

Pricing is as Follows:

On Time Male or Female Intact Dog – $30.00

**after March 1st, Male or Female Intact Dog – $60.00

On Time Spayed or Neutered Dog – $10.00

**after March 1st, Spayed of Neutered Dog $20.00

**You can only have 4 dogs to One Address, if more than 4, Contact Animal Control at 989-743-2406 to apply for a kennel license

You can purchase between December 1, 2023 and February 29, 2024 for on time licenses.

Starting December 1, 2023, all Shiawassee County dog licenses must be purchased at the Shiawassee County Treasurer’s Office,

located in the Circuit Court House on the Second Floor. Office Hours are 8 am – 12 pm, 1 pm – 5 pm.

Happy New Year Mid Michigan Equine family!!! We hope you are doing well!

As you all know, we strive to keep our services reasonable. And as I'm sure everyone is seeing, credit companies are charging big fees for the use of thier services, so instead of raising our prices to cover that cost we will be implementing a service charge for using those different credit companies. You can avoid those extra charges by paying with either cash or a check.

Also please remember that payment is due at time of service.

It's that time of year again!!! We have dog licenses until March first! Current Rabies vaccine is required but have no fear we can take care of that as well!

Intact dogs are $30 spayed and neutered dogs are $10. Have an intact dog and want to get a cheaper license we can help with that also! Schedule a spay or neuter appointment today!

We are looking to add another part-time to full-time veterinary assistant or technician effective immediately. Must be comfortable with all species (dogs, cats, horses, livestock).

Prior veterinary or medical experience preferred, but not totally necessary. On the job training available. Starting salary will reflect prior experience and certification. Strong preference given to those with or in the process of obtaining an LVT.

Don’t forget your Shiawassee County dog license! We can issue them through the office until March 1st. Up-to-date rabies vaccine required. Intact animals are $30, neutered/spayed animals are $10. If your dog needs its rabies vaccine updated, we’re happy to help with that as well. 517-651-1234

We are finally open! GLVC opened the doors Monday, September 28th. We are excited to serve the mid Michigan communities!

We have been getting alot of questions on of we are scheduling services. We apologize if we were not clear about this but we have been scheduling Essential service all along, including vaccines and anything that is a necessary service for the health of your animals. We have been evaluating these on a case by case basis.

Good news today Per Governor's orders we can now schedule non essential services! Please understand there may be a little wait for your visit as we are scheduling about a week out. We will do our best to work with you and get you scheduled as soon as possible.

We appreciate everyones understanding and patience during the last couple months.

🚨Effective Immediately🚨

Given the Stay At Home Order we are making the following changes to our services. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call 517-651-1234. Currently scheduled appointments are all being called today. If we have not contacted you, your appointment is still on the schedule.

What we will be seeing:
☑️Emergencies: Large animal 24/7, small animal during business hours only
☑️Urgent conditions: ear or skin infections, vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, newly developed, or suddenly worsening lameness ( some of these may be done via telemedicine, call for details).
☑️Time sensitive vaccines: prefoaling shots, puppy shots, vaccines in dogs/cats that have not had them before, expiring rabies vaccines
☑️Euthanasias
☑️Urgent dental care (difficulty eating, weight loss, abscess, infection)
☑️Spay/Neuters ONLY in animals with a high likelihood of breeding (outdoor animals, mixed s*x households, etc), or in females that are likely to come into their FIRST heat in the next month.
☑️ Due to limited staffing, all equine reproduction work must be on a drop off basis.

What we will NOT be seeing until the state reopens:
🚫Routine Spay/Neuter
🚫Routine Vaccines in previously vaccinated dogs/cats
🚫Horse vaccines ( subject to change if closures extend beyond April 16)
🚫Chronic lameness
🚫Routine Dentals
