Dorothy Herbert - the most renowned circus and Wild West equestrienne of the twentieth century. Her career spanned nearly fifty years, from 1925 - when she started with a mule and cart act with Gollmar Bros. Circus - to the vary heights of center-ring fame - to 1974, when she sold the dog act she'd been presenting in the shade of her career and took her final bow. In her day, Ringling billed Miss Herbert as the world's most daring rider. Her face graced circus lithographs and programs, including the 1934 cover of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey program. Unparalleled as a trick rider, her wide popularity took her from Camel cigarette ads to the Wheaties box, from Texas Rangerette to honorary Oklahoma Ranger. Can you do this?

Grover Krantz was an anthropologist who donated his body to the Smithsonian Museum to show how skeletons can be educational tools. His only condition was that he wanted his beloved dog next to him even after death. The museum honored his request.
