Updates for our reptile fam! 🐍👋🏻

We have been occupied for the past few days with a historic snowstorm event in our hometown of Lake Charles, LA. We had record amounts of snow and record freezing temperatures. We have been snowed in since Tuesday. Fortunately, we did not lose power and all of our animals stayed safe and warm! 🙌🏻

We’ve enjoyed the family time with the kids, playing in the snow and making memories that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives! ☃️

We are preparing for a historic snow event here in our hometown! 🥶☃️❄️

Animals are inside and warm, and we have a back up generator just in case. 👌🏻

The kids are very excited about the snow and we will definitely be outside enjoying it with them! 😆

IT’S GOING TO SNOW - NOW IT COULD SNOW A LOT! A reasonable worst case scenario is being painted by some hi-res models. If and that’s a big IF, we transition to all snow quickly Tuesday morning the snow accumulations will add up rapidly. The potential for a widespread 4-6” from one end of the state to the other is possible. There could be some intense snow banding at times which may yield totals around 8-10”. Understand that this is not just a few fun flakes, this will a snow event of a lifetime for this part of the world. It will also mean we are snowed in for a period of time Tuesday till Thursday. We don’t have the equipment to plow snow and salt isn’t going to help with this amount of snow.

Seeing some locks! 🙌🏻 These two are Mickey and Zen, who we paired last year and Zen gave us 27 eggs. (Second picture is last year’s eggs from Zen.) Of the 27, only 1 did not hatch. So we got 26 babies from this pairing that were so wonderful, we decided to pair them again. We can’t wait to see their babies that come out this year. It’ll be cool to compare them to their older siblings. 😊

Early morning carpet pickup at the beautiful Louisiana Welcome Center.

We will not be shipping live animals this week due to the heavy strain on shipping companies for the holidays. That coupled with the cold weather.. its just to risky for the animals.

We always prefer meeting up anyways. If you find yourself driving on Intertate 10 through the Texas/Louisiana border, we highly recommend checking it out. There's an amazing board walk through the bayou that will be waiting for you.
