This Friday we celebrated Walker being part of our team for a full year! 🥳

Walker has been a blessing for our hospital. Between his bubbly personality, winning smile, and compassion he shows for every animal in his clinic, he is one of the reasons Gill Bright Animal Hospital is able to continue in our mission to bringing the best in pet care in SWLA. From making sure every pet has an amazing stay in our boarding facility to now assisting our doctors with patient care, his hard work and dedication for every task is top of class.

❓What's the most rewarding part of being in this field of work?
👨🏼For me it would be seeing the relief that owners feel when they know that their loved one is in good hands. Being able to help our team take the best care possible for our patients is extremely fulfilling.

❓What is your favorite memory while working here so far?
👨🏼One day I came into the hospital after taking an exam for a pre-vet class at McNeese. The topics I was tested on matched exactly to a patient we saw that day. It was amazing to see something jump from a textbook into real world application.

❓Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies that you think would surprise people?
👨🏼I volunteer at the McNeese Radio Station, KBYS. Playing music I love and talking nonsense are two of my favorite things, and I get to do both of those at the station!

Come cheer on our team as we race at the Walk & Wag for One Health event this Saturday! This family fun event will be taking place in Sulphur at The Grove, from 7:30-11:30.
While there will be races there will also be lots of fun and education things to do for all ages!

This event is put together by Louisiana One Health in Action. In their own words this event "is an effort to highlight the human/animal bond and to raise awareness of One Health- the interrelationship of Human, Animal, and Environmental Health." We are so glad we get to be a part of this amazing event! Hope to see y'all there!

We want to send a big happy anniversary to Mr. Russel!

One thing we absolutely love to hear from our clients is how beautiful they think our facility is. For the past four years, it has been thanks to Mr. Russel that we get those compliments. He works in the background, making sure the building is maintained not only so that it looks nice, but also so that it is functional to ensure that your pets have a safe place to come to for fun and treatment. From painting the walls, to fixing things around the clinic he truly gives his all to Gill Bright Animal Hospital.

So thank you Mr. Russel, for all you do for us!

We would like to welcome our new Veterinarian Dr. Amanda Benge to Gill Bright Animal Hospital!

⚜️She is Louisiana born and raised, from Metairie, Louisiana!
🐅She graduated from LSU in 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Renewable Natural Resources with a concentration in Wildlife Ecology and management. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, with her clinical rotations being completed at LSU!

Dr. Benge worked with us at Gill Bright Animal Hospital as an extern last year. She was immediately a fit with our team, and we are excited for our amazing clients to meet her as well! We knew right away she was someone we wanted to have on our team and we are beyond thrilled that she agreed!

She has two cats named Elvis and Lola. She also has a "Coconut Retriever" named Coco, a stray she rescued during her time on St. Kitts. 😻🐶

As we are wrapping up this week, we asked a couple of our Technicians what is the reason they want to work in Vet Med. The main answer we got was this:

"To have the ability to help patients that can't speak or advocate for themselves."

Working in this field can definitely be extremely challenging but at the end of the day we are all here for the same reason and that's what makes our team so special. As the Tech Appreciation week is coming to an end, we want to remind everyone to thank your Vet Clinic staff every day of the year for all their hard work and dedication. 💖

Vet Tech Appreciation Week really helps to remind us how important it is to have support. 🥰Our doctors could not do their job if it weren't for veterinary team giving their all to help them.

Just as our veterinary staff step in and help our doctors, the Pet Emergency Clinic is filled with amazing people who are available when we can’t be. When our doors close in the evening, the Pet Emergency Clinic is always there to bridge the gap in care.

In the spirit of giving thanks this week, we wanted to give a major shout out to Pet Emergency Clinic, for all they do for us and our community!💞
