Charlie the Wonder Pony will always hold such a special place in our hearts and in our program. As one of the very first horses in the Reins of Hope family, Charlie brings patience, gentleness, and a personality that never fails to make people smile.

His quiet strength and kind spirit touch countless lives, and the impact he has made on this program will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful for Charlie and all of the amazing things he has done for our riders, participants, and community. ❤️

We are incredibly thankful to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry for providing the seed funding for Second Stride through the Equine Promotion and Research Grant.

This generous support directly advances the Department’s mission by expanding equine-assisted programs and increasing the positive impact of horses within our community. Reins of Hope is proud to join in that mission by promoting equine activities and their beneficial influence throughout Southwest Louisiana.

Second Stride, our veteran and first responder program, is now open for enrollment! We are honored to serve those who have served our communities and country through the healing power of horses.

Some barns measure progress in ribbons… we measure it in smiles 😜🐴

Around here, learning looks a lot like play. If it feels like fun, we’re doing it right. Major keeping lessons light, laughter loud, and confidence growing one silly moment at a time. 💛

Therapeutic riding is never just for the rider. It’s for the pride that rises with every step forward, for the smiles shared on the sidelines, and for the hearts that swell watching strength take shape. It’s for the families and loved ones who no longer count worries, but moments, each one a reminder of how far they’ve come.
Here, healing looks a lot like pride. 🐴

After every ride, there’s a quiet moment that matters. A pause to breathe, to reconnect, and to acknowledge what these horses give so freely, their steadiness, their trust, and the sense of calm they leave with us long after the ride is over. These small gestures of gratitude remind us that healing often lives in the simplest moments of connection.🐴🩵🤎
