🚨 Choking or Blockages: A Serious Risk for Your Pet 🚨

Did you know that rawhide bones and other edible chews can pose a much bigger risk than just digestive irritation? If your dog swallows large pieces, they can get stuck in the esophagus or digestive tract, leading to dangerous blockages.

Depending on the severity, removal may require an endoscopy or even abdominal surgery. If left untreated, a blockage can be fatal.

⚠️ Always supervise your pet with chews and monitor their behavior. If you notice these signs, contact us immediately!

🚨 Toxic Mushrooms Alert for Pet Owners 🚨

While most mushrooms are harmless, some can be extremely dangerous to your pets! 🍄🐾 Here are a few toxic mushrooms to watch out for:

🔴 Amanita muscaria – Contains deadly amatoxins that can cause liver failure.
🔴 Death Cap (Amanita phalloides) – Can lead to kidney and liver failure or death.
🔴 Inocybe & Clitocybe – Lethal due to muscarine, causing severe symptoms in dogs.
🔴 Galerina marginata – Causes vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea.
🔴 Panther Cap (A. pantherina) – Leads to tremors, seizures, and "drunk walking."
🔴 False Morel (Gyromitra spp.) – Triggers vomiting and diarrhea.

⚠️ Even a small bite can be fatal! Young dogs are especially curious and prone to eating mushrooms.

If your pet ingests a mushroom, contact us immediately for emergency care!

Feline Asthma:

Symptoms: Coughing, wheezing, rapid breathing, or open-mouth breathing.
Why it’s dangerous: Asthma attacks can escalate quickly, making it hard for your cat to breathe. This can be fatal without proper treatment.

When to act: If your cat is wheezing or struggling to breathe, bring them to us right away for emergency intervention.

🐱 Cats are experts at hiding pain—don’t let these symptoms go unnoticed!

Antifreeze Danger! 🚨

Antifreeze can be deadly for your pets! It contains ethylene glycol, a sweet-tasting chemical that’s highly toxic, even in small amounts. If your dog or cat ingests it, they may appear disoriented or "drunk"—a sign of serious intoxication.

⚠️ What to Do:
If you suspect your pet has ingested antifreeze, don't wait—seek emergency vet care immediately. The sooner the treatment begins, the better the chance of recovery.
